Rumoured Hatton opponent ?!?!?!

Tabloid reports last night (Kevin Francis - Daily Star) said that Hatton next defence is "expected" and "likely" to be against....... The Dangerous hard hitting Kelson Pinto.

A very interesting choice, this is an excellent short term opponent as its such a hard fight to call. I don't know much about Pinto, but ALL reports I have heard from people who do, think he's THE dangerman in the devision.

Long term, I can't help but think about Pinto's high WBO ranking and the fact that Judah isn't happy with his belt.

Hmmmmm....don't know what to make of that one. Seems a risky fight to take when you're on the brink of a real title shot - vacant WBO title maybe? Though I thought Ricky had been dropped from their ratings.
The guy is unproven so it's hard to know how good he really is - beat Cotto as an amateur though. Doubtful I think - it is The Star after all.

Is allegedly fuming at Audley's clever oneupmanship and not thinking straight! Because as well as Hatton-Pinto, a Manchester source is revealing that David Barnes fights....Jimmy Vincent on April 3 at the MEN Arena.

i'd like it to be someone like demarcus corley

he's a decent top 10 opponent and had a borefest with zab judah if hatton does a better job than judah that will make people sit up.

Barnes-Vincent II is virtually definite by the way. Fair play to Frank for keeping his word.

Good news for Vincent then. His step-aside gamble pays off.
Hard to guess the result of a rematch - Barnes looks a excellent prospect, even in "losing" that fight he showed a lot of potential. But Vincent really gave him hell............

So is this Pinto rumour true then adamiw? Or is it a typo, and it's actualy a comebacking 45 year old Lupe Pintor that he's been matched with?

Pinto-Hatton wouldn't totally surprise me. Remember, Pinto was let down last month when Witter pulled out of their fight quite late (though at least the Brazilian hadn't set off for England), and allegedly is decent enough to give a man a second chance, as he's proved with Jimmy Vincent.
And Hatton, since the big win over Tackie, must be proving a hard man to match, especially if Showtime are sticking their oar in. I can't see them accepting any Aldo Rios-type opponents for "The Hitman". Enter Kelson Pinto.

I have spoken to a few sources and i cannot find anyone on this planet who has seen Pinto fight! I believe he holds a win over durable Emmanuel Burton or whatever he is calling himself these days. Pinto is one of a good crop of Brazilian fighters coming through of late and has good power, some think Witter ducked him although it was put down to a hand injury.
