(Video) Calzaghe: "See me tame big-mouthed Bernard"

Post by fh_editor »

CALZAGHE: "YOU'RE GOING TO SEE ME TAME BIG-MOUTHED BERNARD HOPKINS!"

"He talks a big one, but dogs that bark, they don't bite," stated a confident super middleweight king Joe Calzghe as he fired back at Bernard Hopkins and reminded everyone, "he's no Mayweather and I'm no Ricky Hatton!" Things are heating up and you don't want to miss what else he had to say about their upcoming clash and the advantage he'll have being able to fight at the higher weight. Plus, watch Hopkins and Calzaghe debate the quality of opponents they've faced as they compare records. Check it out!

Love it. However, watching that and seeing how relaxed Calzaghe seems and how he seems to be relishing the big fight occasion, I can't help but think 'Joe, why oh why didn't you start fighting Stateside earlier in your career?'. Wasted years...

Looks like Calzaghe's had a few to me.

He seems almost jovial.

I like this Joe Calzaghe. Confident, yet very likeable. He should be like this more often. :TU:

And he seems confident in his power. I think he believes in his hands more now, perhaps because they've held up well for a while now.

I know hopkins is doing his act to try to intimidate Joe; but it's not working and I think that it's backfiring on Hopkins - he can see it's not working.

Let's just hope the Welsh/British fans don't boo the anthem so we get a fair ref and decision.

Joe gets up for the big fights and performs at his best. I expect a clear decision victory in a technical but not exciting fight.

I was half expecting a joke! He's probably planned retirement should he win, so he's looking forward to getting away from the stress of taking fights. He's going to be set for life financially.
A lot of boxers become almost different people after retiring, at least in public.

Calzaghe will have trained as hard as ever though, and despite his growing years he'll be fiercely competitive on the night. There'll be no "We were different weights" from Joe if he loses, and he knows that.
