Colin Lynes
What is your opinion of Colin Lynes?
He's a very neat, well schooled boxer. A pretty decent amatuer, but saw him get destroyed by Ricky Hatton as an amatuer (yes, you guessed it...body shots.
I feel he's had plenty of learning fights and he should now be making a move towards the British title or another meaningful match, after that loss to the South African guy (which was not such a bad loss when you consider he beat Ted Bami as well).

Re: Colin Lynes
He's a solid fighter. Okay, he was never in the hunt against Samuel Malinga last year, but it remains his only defeat in 23 outings and he probably learned more from that defeat than many of his wins.Dynamite Dean Phillips wrote:What is your opinion of Colin Lynes?
And Malinga is no mug. He was voted South African prospect of the year for 2002 and has since crushed Ted Bami for the WBF light-welterweight title in three rounds.
Lynes, still only 26, started the rebuilding process with a points win over Birmingham journeyman Brian Coleman on the Brodie-Chi undercard in October. The lanky boxer-puncher holds a fine four round stoppage over Kevin Bennett, who ended the career of Colin Dunne and captured the Commonwealth lightweight title late last year, and fights on Saturday at York hall. Not sure of his opponent.
But he's a light-welter, Dean.

What, for Bami and Lynes?Dynamite Dean Phillips wrote:The reason why I asked was because my name was forwarded as a prospective opponent for either of the two light welters on the York Hall show.......the fight was turned down by both; they are obviously looking for build-up fights, and do not want to take risks.
