Just a thought.

If Enzo gets beat, Amir gets done by the Great Dane (a long shot I admit) and JC retires after Hopkins what does he have left???

No ITV deal, no public headline act and a growing waistline.

He has looked vulnerable for a few years is the end nigh?

I agree Amir is very important to him and is his flagship fighter, especially once Joe retires, but he won't lose to the dane and even if he does it shouldn't be the end of the world.

Also no shame at all in Enzo losing to Haye, still plenty of fights out there for him at cruiser once Haye moves up.

Also fighters like Mitchell, Smith and Matthews on the way up, Arthur with a title shot, Pryce doing very well, there is plenty of life in the old dog yet

In a word , No.

wouldn't be the first time he would have to rebuild his stable of boxers.

There's always the Olympics this year, and you can be sure he'll be keeping a close watch on the ones who don't qualify, and want to turn pro.

However, even if Amir wins, his "management" have indacted they may not resign with Warren when his contract expires (which I believe is this year?).

In others words, he's the next Nas.

There are other promoters who can sign them. I think a deal has almost been done on the highest profile 2008 boxer- and it isn't Warren.

Even if Warren didn't have world class talent he can still get his fighters WBU and WBO belts. Put a W in the advert of every show, and ppl turn up, because audiences are confused at to the different between "world class" boxing and "an international contest".

But look at the timing of his big fights. Calzaghe couldn't have fought an older Hopkins, couild he?

And Mac couldn't have got Haye at a better time, no?

Warren's fighters are going to win the big fights, whether that's good or bad I don't know.

I don't always like what Warren does on some of his shows, e.g. weak undercards.
But he's still the top promoter in the country by a mile.

Warren will always be a major player in the British boxing scene because he has loads of cash, and he can earn fighters loads of cash without taking major risks.

If someone like Richard Branson wanted become Britains number one boxing promoter, he could do it over night.
It's all about wonga and Fwanky has more than the other British promoters

I'd agree with that, though there is no doubt Khan is his most important fighter now, with JC coming to the end of his career.

Amir is his future, and the next crop of amateurs.

I can't see Frank being shifted just yet, he's a clever man when it comes to the boxing business and he has an excellent stable still.

The one thing I will say is, that the other promoters have to get their shit together with the next group turning over.

If the rumours are true that the Khan camp are sniffing around for a possible better deal, then again the other promoters have to make it happen.

He would have to do some serious `negotiating` to get Sky to ever be interested in giving him a contract .. the rubbish he served up for them will have left a very bad taste for a very long time..

ITV have seemed to wisened up on him .. after he did almost exactly what Fraudley did with the BBC

Setanta will learn soon enough also

Once the TV deals evaporate then that is the end .. why would any prospect sign for him without TV to guarantee the big paydays?

Calzaghe is a year maybe from retirement .. Enzo - win or lose is in a division that never attracts much attention - ask one of your mates down the pub to name another big `name` outside of Enzo and Haye..

Mitchel, Arthur and Pryce are good european level boxers at best .. def nothing to attract big attention on the world stage.

And Khan?.. who can really say how he`ll develop? .. big,big questions about his chin are forever talked about .. rumours beginning to go around about him going it by himself?

He did work with King, when Ashira came over to fight Calzaghe, LOL

I think King is in deep decline, personally. His biggest draw (hometown) is Cory Spinks, who is often shunned by the cable networks. Warren hs put big shows on, like Calzaghe-Kessler/Lacy/Manfredo and has sold Khan as an attraction.

Also, Frank has beaten GBP is purse bids a couple of times.

Warren is co-promoting with GBP for the Calzaghe-Hopkins show.

Will be interesting however if Warren's fighters lose the upcoming big fights. Very interesting indeed.

I think not, just a pity Barry Hearn does not really push Boxing.
