Perhaps this should be on a Williams vs Sprott thread - but shouldn't this guy be mandatory challenger for Sprott, if nothing comes of Williams' appeal.
Remember prior to Sprott vs Williams 2, it was supposed to be Sprott vs Long in an eliminator.
He did lose on Saturday, but didn't lose any reputation or credability - if he'd have stayed active, I think he would be now in the WBC top ten.

I may have done Long a bit of disservice over his repeated pullouts. Turns out he suffered a serious rib injury in his one-round win over Alvin Miller last February (though he pulled out of the Danny Williams challenge twice before then). What Long needs to do now, is stay active. He's 35, but he's not an old 35 in boxing terms (due to his low number of fights) and to go 12 rounds with Bakhtov after such a long layoff was a good performance. Yes, he must be close to a crack at Sprott. I can definitely see that up next for Sprott.

If that does not happen - a fight with Audley should be next...
IMO - Long is less dangerous to Audley than say - Skelton or Francis would be !!.
Long is a tough guy to beat and Audley would be an ideal opportunit to earn well and cause a mini sensation..

I would probably pick Aud, but wouldn't be confident. I would be rather confident Aud could handle Francis.
Long would beat Francis.
I thought Long put in stirling effort against Bahktov. It's hard to call who's next up for the British title next as there's several candidates waiting in the wings. Maybe the Board will order a series of eliminators and Keith should definitely figure in one of them. Then again allegedly may have it all planned out already.

I quite like Long actually, Frank Maloney said once that he is just a human punchbag and to a certain extent he is right. However Long has incredible resolve and will which can test a fighters heart with his relentless coming forward so i think he has qualities enough to test prospects. If Skelton fights Sprott then i expect Skelton to win (that's providing Skelton gets by Francis) and then Skelton's first defense of the British title could be against Long. I would be interested to see Skelton in with someone who appears to be able to take punches and keep coming back.
