What percentage of boxers now, especially US and East Europe and HW, do you reckon are juiced up?
Even here. I have it on good authority that a champion fighter in Lancashire takes cortisone injections to assist his hips and elbows, apparently one of his trainers has connection with (Brian) Batcheldor or something.
Anyway, obviously very few are caught out... Roy Jones Jr, James Toney, Vitali Klitschko. But you'd need to be pretty naive not to know how easy it is to get the timing right and not 'fornicate up' as Mr Batcheldor likes to say.
Infact, according to Mr Batcheldor, who is connected to a boxing team up North, he's often had boxers 'visit him' down the years. Interesting.

Morrison said the majority of top heavies are, and frankly given the appalling drug testing in boxing it wouldn't surprise me.
You don't even have to look like Golota or McCLine to be a roider - even FRans Botha failed a test....
As for piles - I'm not sure, but according to a doctor there are two types of people
1. Those who have piles
2. Those who lie about having piles

It's a common misconception that taking steroids gives you a body beautiful, however it's not a shortcut the training still has to be done. They do however significantly improve recovery enabling the athlete concerned to train for longer and more often when they are in training. They can also aid in recovering from some injuries.E wrote:Morrison said the majority of top heavies are, and frankly given the appalling drug testing in boxing it wouldn't surprise me.

People were quick to dismiss Toney's first failed test on account of him being overweight but he still would have benefitted from using them even carrying around the paunch.
I recall Toney playing to that cliche, saying something of this ilk, "I can't have taken steroids, look at me I'm a fat bastard." However, the substances he tested for post Ruiz can help in shifting large amounts of weight. Given that he was terribly out of shape when he took the fight, at only what (I believe) was just over a month's notice, it's safe to say he needed 'em.nickd wrote:It's a common misconception that taking steroids gives you a body beautiful, however it's not a shortcut the training still has to be done. Bet he's not as good as a certain former bodybuilder with the catchphrase "I'll be back".
More like "wooo, yeah buddy, I'll be back, eee hee Michael Jackson like".

The guy came accross as quite funny and likeable in the documentary funnily enough.
