David Dolan is the fave due to the 3 round duration and his vast amateur pedigree

Ian Millarvie probably ditto

Colin Kenna has the edge in terms of experience..hes fought in by far the most superior class

Butlin is strong but slow

bessey is not fit enough

Rogan is another one who is muscly but slow

and i dont know about the others

it shud be interesting tho

This tournament fills me with dread. I think it will encapsulate everything that is wrong with boxing.

Not fair to say on a forum, suffice to say he's just not what he was IMO. I hope he does win it as he seems a great lad whenever I've met him.

I'm hoping for a Billy v Colin final, but I'm biased.

If Colin gets himself in the shape he was against Wayne Llewyen then I tip him for the final, if not I don't think he'll do much as when he's not in top shape he tends to take a few rounds to warm up which means he'll be out in the first bout. He did this for many of his fights - Simpkin, King, Steads, Francis but when he did get going he was a joy to watch.

Steeds, if he isn't serious about CW then he surely would be a welcome addition to the tournment and his fans would pack the place out. Don't know if thats a good thing

Why wouldn't Micky Steeds be serious about CW, I can tell you he's serious, he's serious about his boxing career more than ever now and thats why he's found himself touching CW, I've never seen him so fit, he's living the life now, the Micky Steeds who boxed Gammer was only 50% of what he is even now, watching him train now compared to when he was HW is something else. If he weighed CW in the Gammer fight he would have been as sharp as he is now & I'd say he would have beaten him. He's a leaner, meaner fighting machine! ( don't worry George Foreman, I mean a fighting machine not a grilling machine

The heavyweight scene in the UK needs a kick up the jacksy, IMO this is a great idea and Hearne is due full respect for this concept

Does drum up some interest, Hearn is a master buisness man and the whole idea of this I think is Hearn will sign up the winner and in effect he's got the best of the bunch in the HW prospects

Was only asking due to him having one fight at CW since his decsion and he was put down for the first time and he's struggled with his weight in previous fights so with the long lay off would have thought he would be threre or there abouts weight wise for this tournament.

Is Mickey not tempted? He must fancy his chances with his points winning style? Career high purse if he wins and also selling lots of tickets being a local lad?

If he isn't when is he planning on getting back in the ring?

Yes good point, sorry if I looked like I was reading to much into it ! he has got the style to have a good chance, he'd be quicker than most of them if not all, think I will try and convince him now!

hello every one was just reading your posts and felt i had to reply i was asked to enter hw comp but turned it down cos i would have come in at 14st 8lb which would be to small but will be fighting in aprill at cw

Any word on how Billy got on yesterday? I see Belsahw's fighting on Friday apparently, and also a US card the following week. One or other is surely off? Dave Ferguson also down to fight on March 20th. Is that really going ahead? Ibbs proved this weekend you might be supposed to win, but might not.

I vote for Audley as the replacement.
