Does anyone know if there is a site that contains jpgs or other images of every known <i>The Ring</i> magazine covers. At the public library long ago, I found a book that identified who or what was featured on the cover of every issue from the first through February 1995, but not a picture of any of the actual covers.

Barry, Did you ever update this list? I notice that some covers in this list are lacking names of who were on the covers. That will be great if and when DeLisa posts the scans over at the CBZ. (Actually, somewhere around here, I have a complete list that I got from... where? I can't recall at the moment.)

DeLisa just sent me his latest update on the list, which I still need to go through and see if I can add anything. I've got a folder in my documents where I have a ton of covers scanned, I've been fiddling around with adding the photo's to the list, but the microsoft word files are very large, 20.0 MB for just the 1940s scans alone. If you like, I'll e-mail it to you, but it would take a while to download unless you have dsl, or cable internet.

That's alright, Barry. Actually, I just thought it might be nice to have somewhere (here or at CBZ) a list of who were on every single RING cover from 1922 to the present issue. As you know, in the older days, they'd have only one guy on the cover. These days, a cover may have many different folks shown.

I am amazed that The Ring, "The Bible of Boxing," THE Original, does not have its own web site, after all these years of Internet growth.

A dedicated Ring site would surely be popular and increase magazine sales.
It could offer, among other things:
RING's current ratings
Selections from its upcoming magazine issue
A list of every of every one of its past covers, accompanied by scans of the covers.
A list of every "Boxer of the Year," "Fight of the Year," and so forth.

If and when Ring decides to create its own site, it might consider associating itself with a current boxing news site that today is already quite popular--such as Fightingnews.com

Why has The Ring not kept up with the times?

I'm amazed to.
When I lived in Sweden some 14 years ago, I could by it anywhere, in almost any magazine store. In Paris, there was a store in my neighborhood, where I could get it.
Since I moved to Norway I couldn't find it anywhere, and still cannot.
I bought my issues during my visits to Sweden, and finally decided to re-subscribe. Guess how, by buying an issue in Sweden in order to get the subscribtion advert.
I took years to locate anything about The Ring on the web.
Other Scandinaviains covered are Gunnar Barlund. (Maybee Otto von Porat, Born in Sweden), I don't know?
Nowadays, you can find almost any backissue you want at some web auctions.
