Danny Green vs Marcus Beyer

Post by Mundine »

I think the bits of information below the Danny Green-Marcus Beyer fight aren't exactly correct.

It says: "Fight goes to the scorecards when Green worsens a Beyer cut with an headbutt, Beyer cannot continue, so he wins by DQ"

In reality, the fight never actually went to the scorecards. Also, it's bad grammar to put "AN headbutt".

This is what happened: After the bout was stopped by the doctor due to the cut on Beyer's eye, the ref initially said it was going to the cards (in which Green was ahead on ALL three) but in the end (after a little debate amongst the ref, the doctor, the promoters and the WBC rule comittee) the ref decided to DQ Green. Therefore, it should say something more along the lines of:

Green, ahead on all three scorecards, worsens a Beyer cut with a headbutt. Beyer is unable to continue, so he controversially wins by disqaulitfication. It's just better english as well.

ALSO, it says that "Green is deducted 2 points for headbutts". To me, thats not enough detail. It should say something more along the lines of:

Green had 2 points deducted in round 5 for a headbutt

ALSO, instead of saying "Beyer down in rounds 1 and 2" again it should have more detail. Something along the lines of:

Beyer down in round 1 and once again in round 2, both times by overhand rights.

And the OCEANIC BOXING ASSOSIATION title that Green won against Pauliu Taliu (sp ??) is the same as the OBA title that he won off Stenton (he was making a defence). Shouldn't they BOTH either say OBA light heavyweight title, or Oceanic Boxing Assosation light heavyweight title??

In the Brad Mayo fight, is it necessary to put "a member of the corner threw in the towel". I'm sure this has happened on THOUSANDS of other fights in your record, but it isn't mentioned in those. Waste of space and makes it look a little un neat. :-?

And what is up with the IBF SUPERVISOR: RAY WHEATLEY. It's getting annoying for all Australian and Australasian fighters whose records (on this site) are littered with IBF SUPERVISOR: RAY WHEATLEY. I don't think it's neccessary (unless your Ray youself and wanna big note yourself maybe) but fighters like Anthony Mundine, Danny Green, Sam Soliman, Robbie Peden, Lovemore N'Dou etcc.. have them. Personally, I think it should be removed.

Regarding the IBF supervisor Ray Wheatley comments; they are comming from Wheatley himself. IMO, they have no business being on there, because they are only done for self-promotion.

They really should be deleted as they are seen. You are completely right on eliminating them.

DEFINATELY!!

And they make the records look un-neat and clogged with writing. And as both of us have said, it's just simply for Ray to big note himself I spose. Should be eliminated...

Other fighters with them include Anthony Mundine, Danny Green, Robbie Peden, Lovemore N'Dou, Nedal Hussein, Vic Darchinian, Sam Soliman, Nader Hamdan and most other Aussie and Australasian fighters.

I'm sorry but the information for the Danny Green-Marcus Beyer fight is wrong and contains bad english (AN headbutt). I think it needs to be changed if it wants to be accurate...
