If you're betting on a mcdonagh win. I'll take your money.oscar wrote:anyone know if there is any betting for this?
That doesn't really tell the story, McDonagh cut over eye by Lauri's head I heard and the fight had to be stopped because of cut and Lauri wasn't having it all his own way. McDonagh was touching the light welter limit the last 3wks before the fight, he is 100% a lightweightoscar wrote:macdonagh loses in 6 tko branco wins ptsWales wrote:results?

McDonagh? Pah!
Why won't McDonagh defend his Irish lightweight title?

Is there fights for this title to be made? Is there people willing to pay to watch Peter square off against Mark Winters?ApolloCreed wrote:Why won't McDonagh defend his Irish lightweight title?
Maybe Toby can fill us in as to what's going on?

He was supposed to fight Oisin Fagan for that Irish belt a couple years ago and pulled out b/c of some "sudden" knee injury. Are you sure it hasn't been revoked by now?

I doubt the BUI stripped him of the title - they arnt like the WBC in that way. Robbie Murray had it for ages and didnt defend it and infact only vacated it so that
If McDonagh has any balls then he would stop messing around and fight Fagan for the lightweight title or else retire with a bit of grace!

Re: McDonagh? Pah!
I doubt it, McBride has had the Irish title for years and I don't think has ever defended it despite Colin Kenna trying to get the match made. I think there was talk about stripping him and Colin fighting Delahny but he got sent down so don't know what will happen with that now. I was hoping Rogan would make more progress than he's done for the fight to be made. Maybe Belshaw down the line?NaFianna wrote:ApolloCreed wrote:Why won't McDonagh defend his Irish lightweight title?

Would Belshaw fight for an Irish title?Dirk Kelly wrote:I doubt it, McBride has had the Irish title for years and I don't think has ever defended it despite Colin Kenna trying to get the match made. There has been alot of talk of Rogan vs Belshaw for this belt if Mcbride didnt want to defend it against either, though due to career paths it may not be something we see anytime soon.
Belshaws Manager - Frank Maloney is in the press recently stating that he thinks Belshaw could beat skelton over 6 rnds and that he think he has a ligitimate chance of a British title shot within the next 18 months if not sooner.

Re: McDonagh? Pah!
Fair enough I was just asking as I know certain "Northern Irish" wouldnt fight for a British title.Gareth wrote:Simple answer - yes he would.sligobhoy67 wrote:Would Belshaw fight for an Irish title?Dirk Kelly wrote: I doubt it, McBride has had the Irish title for years and I don't think has ever defended it despite Colin Kenna trying to get the match made. Yes I'd like to see Rogan and Belshaw get it on - from what I understand there is no love lost between the Holy Trinity and Eastside boxers.
Anyone know what Tommy Donnelly is up to?
