Enzo has better boxing ability than Mormeck. Mormecks a mini tank who would eat jabs and uppercuts from Enzo before being stopped.
It might not. Or it just might. Look at Enzo's sub par performance in the 1st Hobson fight. This followed easy wins over men like Heinichen and Lamontagne...Even Sir John of Rawling felt that those fights may have left him unprepared for a real fight, which he said on the ITV commentary.

Why not Haye? Overrated, chin will be tested without doubt by a real puncher, poor defensively, will be spent after 6 rounds, has only really fought JMM in real world class who IMO was on a par with Braithwaite, been put down wobbled by lesser fighters than Enzo.

Enzo to win inside distance.
I admire your sentiments & you make a convincing argument, but I can't agree.

To me, Enzo is an unknown: he has spent too long fighting the likes of Bobby Gunn & when a fighter fights at such a low level, it is sometimes difficult to tell how good he really is.

Haye, for all his faults; i know what he can do & I believe he will be too much for Maccarinelli.

Fair doos to Haye, he's reached the top by beating the top guy at cruiser in Mormeck (albeit a fighter with similar stamina issues) but is it just me that thinks Haye tries too hard to look good, flash, rather than focus on the task at hand. He still has a bad defense. Enzo should take the fight to Haye, force him on the backfoot like Frago did, cut open that scar tissue and make him bleed.

While the Mormeck win was a brilliant result, right up to when DH finished him off, I had the feeling Haye was on the verge of blowing it....he seemed to make things harder than they should have been, with all the physical advantages he had, like going to the ropes with his left hand down by his waste, and trying a sort of Mayweather twist of the body to avoid punches....right result in the end though, so you forget about that stuff.

Yeah I thought Hobson won the 1st fight by a point that was before his old trainer retired though.

You make a good point.

Haye does try very hard to look cool sometimes.

He is actually quite technically accomplished & just needs to stick to the basics sometimes, as he probably doesn't have enough to get away with some of the flash Harry stuff.

I never saw this as a 50/50 fight before the possibility arose that haye could have nightmares making 200. I don't understand why anyone thought it was a pickem fight, Haye is just soooo much the better fighter. If his weight is ok he will blow enzo away and we won't have to hear any more of this misinformed nonsense about Enzo being able to compete.

Anyone who loves this sport should be praying that David Haye wins this fight.
Spot on.
You guys are way too dismissive of Enzo, If It was the same Enzo who fought Hobson I would agree but he's Improved since then
Not to take anything away from Enzo Maccarinelli because he's a good boxer (hugely improved under camp Calzaghe) but I'm convinced that Haye edges him out in class and raw power.

To be honest I would rather see Haye win too, if only for the fact that he isn't beholden to the allegedly policy on matchmaking. Nothing against Frank either because he's just a buisnessman protecting his interests but his tried and tested formula doesn't always equate to mouthwatering cards esecially for and impatient git like me.

what was alarming was the ease with which Mormeck was able to land the jab and the overhand right, Mormeck isn't the classiest of operators, and certainly isn't one of the fastest, but Haye was caught like a Rabbit in the headlights several times, and looked very tired after the 3rd round too.

Haye is seen to be the favorite on paper..and i also believe he is above Mac in reality sense. So if Mac pulls off the win, do i call it an upset?

I know they are selling it to be some equal match up, maybe it is if you count Haye's weight issue!

Quite right.

Whilst Haye’s win over Mormeck was an excellent one this doesn’t tell the whole story. As pointed out he allowed himself to be backed up against the ropes with his hands down and was definitely flaggging at times – and this brings me back to the post fight interview where he admitted that he had little in his legs because of trying to make the weight and felt the need to keep something in reserve. He also said that he would feel stronger at HW where we will see the old Haye letting his hands go.

This raises concerns for me and makes this fight all the more difficult to call. There are many ways in which you could possibly see this fight going which is why I am really looking forward to it.

I had Enzo by one point due to the knockdown. True, he was doing most of his training by himself as his trainer was ill. He definitely has improved now.

I thought haye did really well to survive a crisis and break his opponent down. Mormeck is tricky as he's been taught how to roll in by former Tyson trainer Giachetti. Haye did take too much on the ropes, but a lot of the time he was turning his shoulder in, taking the sting out of the shots, before stepping off to the sides. I think if his reflexes were what they were around 2006 he would have been that bit faster and we could've been looking at a more dominant showing.

I'm concerned that Haye just won't have it physically in this bout. Enzo Mac's a lot bigger and fresher than Mormeck.

according to talksport.

fight could be off if the weigh in isn't moved from 7 to 4.

haye is saying it was originally gonna be at 4.

but it's now been changed and haye is not a happy bunny.

Haye certainly stayed calm I'll give him that, he kept his composure and fought his way back into it gradually, but looked badly hurt.

I fear Haye is going to be blowing very hard if it goes past four rounds, and I think Macca definetly hits hard enough to hurt him without having to land a hail mary shot.

One thing i will say about Macca... his headshots are pretty good but his body shots are TOP CLASS.

Haye doesnt wanna be taking too many body shots if he is tight at the weight.

Haye will have to keep it at long range to maximise his chance to land a long right and minimise the chance of those potentially fight winning body shots landed.

Haye has already gone to great lengths to accommodate Maccarinelli, by agreeing to fight at 200 lbs. I hope it happens at 4.
