Go on Haye, smash him up. Break this little gang of bully boys.
Spot on. Warren is deliberately moving the weign in to 7p(!!! this is unheard of!!!) I am sure he wouldn't have done it for Calzaghe to 'accomodate American TV' when he was struggling with the scales against 'Kessler'.

This is PATHETIC from Warren. I have had the feeling all along that Booth and Haye took this fight not just for the fans but to also give a massive two fingers up to Warren and his bully boy tactics.

Haye is everything that is right with the sport, and on the recent showing Warren is everything that is wrong!!!

How long can the general public keep buying into his rubbish.

GO HAYE!!

There needs to be someone to stand up to Warren. I really hope that Haye gives them a shock, knocks them off their perch and signals a new major player in boxing. One bad loss and everyone will be reassessing how gret Warren is.

If Mac wins, how is he going to cope with THREE world titles? Being babied like this at every turn might get him the belts, but how is he going to fend off challengers coming from all over to get him?

He's not going to be able to fight Ezra Sellers or some other crippled 40 yo. Or some former tough man who can turn his own nose inside out. This is serious stuff.

What happens if Sauerland or Universum win a purse bid and he's trapped in Germany fighting someone strong at the weight and skilled like Alexeev or YP Hernandez? How will he fend off talented Yanks Cunningham, Aaron Williams and Matt Godfrey, who expect to travel and kick arse on the road??

I did at least manage to grab a couple of minutes with Enzo Calzaghe before Dominic Negus started prowling around shouting "Come on, ladies and gents, finish your drinks now, ladies and gents, boys, girls, please, aintcha got homes to go to?" or something to that effect.

Maybe I should have punched him when he was sitting down. That would have done it.

It makes me more confident of a Haye victory.

It also makes me wonder what would have happened if SN had promoted Duran for a few years and had insisted he shaved his beard. Yet another unique hotel balconey view for one of the people involved perhaps?
That is ridiculous! It's not as if Haye's got a heavy beard, it's a trim goatee as fashioned by a great many boxers out there (including, of course, Sports Network ones. Danny Williams, for instance, sometimes looks Mr Tumnus in there)

“I’m going to show everyone what I am made of. They will see that I will be the heavyweight to watch out for after this fight. It won’t be like the Klitchko’s poor excuse for a so called fight last week.”

He shouldn't be talking.

Haye's "fight" with Ismail Abdoul made Wlad and Igbragimov look like Granziano vs Zale.

They wanted Lacy to shave too before the fight so they could see his chin, don't see the Issue In shaving myself though. I thought a better would be to shave so he can't rub the hairs on Enzo's face In case of a cut or something for example.

It's just to hype up the fight and make publicity, I wouldn't bother using It to predict a fight.

I guess even if the weigh in does go ahead at the time Haye wants, Warren will still have done a job to a degree getting in Haye's face making him worry about how he is going to do the weight etc.

Is there any news on this?

I think they are getting the post-fight excuse in early. "I did want to hit Haye on his chin but he disguised it with a strange downy growth. It totally threw me off my game. My corner told me to aim for the triangular bottom point of his cheekbones and while I was thinking that one through Haye hit me, which was against the contracted rules. We wuz robbed, we shudda stod in bed!"

Allegedly according to allegedly the board need to 'look into it' as it goes against the regulations, in fact the #1 regulation that the board operates under, which I'm sure can be fleshed out without it being stated.
I'm sure the board will create a new rule for Frank if he asks them nicely

Anyone hear Warren's quotes about Haye and the press conference issue yesterday?

He kept saying (about Haye) "He's working for me, I'm paying him" yada yada yada...

I suppose in essence this is true but it's a bit different in sport and betrays an amount of arrogance from our Franky.

Thats the problem with Boxing.

The promoter can get away with saying shit like "Haye is working for me..."

Fwanky, your "talent" lies in making money off of boxers GENUINE talent.

In the grand scheme of things, you are merely a fixer and the real business of the night has fvck all to do with you(mind you, would love to see the old git don the gloves and give it a go! Absolutley love it!)so STOP trying to be the star of the show.

Promoters work for the fighters

Promoters ARE boxing to all intents and purposes. You have to remember that it is the promoter who puts the money up to stage the event, it's not like other sports. Without promoters, boxing would cease to exist, as governing bodies do not have the funds or knowhow to run the sport, but merely administrate it.

Managers on the other hand merely negotiate on behalf of a fighter, and I think fighters could rightly argue that the manager works for them, much like an agent works for a writer or footballer.

One thing to remember, if the weigh in is later, at 7, Haye still has a long time to rehydrate because the fight doesn't start till 2am next day.

God James, what a post. This is almost like when I found out Seb Coe was a f*cking Tory. What's happened to you?

Boxing would exist if all promoters packed in overnight. It wouldn't be boxing as we know it, of course, but gyms around the country would still be full of kids. You mean professional boxing, I take it. Even then, it's a bloody depressing thought.

Professional boxing does need promoters but to say they ARE boxing is extreme. But, if you're right, it means that the likes of W*rren have a huge responsibility - one that they constantly abuse.

Oh James! youre breaking my heart!!... its like when I found out a woman I was dating had a dimpled bum!... :x .... fighters and fans are boxing, simple as that, boxing was around long before the big promoters came in and by and large it thrived in those days.... in an ideal world boxers would promote themselves and the world would be a happier place... infact thats a trend I see coming in the next few years......
