I think he's awful, first i heard of him with Jones vs Ruiz, I cant stand him.

Ho ho, yes he's a read ringer. Not too bad Col Bob, a bit like vanilla ice cream, but not overly annoying. Just a bit middle of the road back ground noise.
Who do we get tonight, Rawlings is it? I'd prefer if ol Ian Darke was on the mike, and Jim.

You should hear him comment on Lewis-Holyfield 2. I think he gave Lewis about 3 rounds. Laughable.
Very biased toward the King fighter obviously. Still, at least he knows a bit about boxing which is more than you can say for Rawling and at least he can speak English reasonably well......which is more than you can say for McKenzie.

I'd say Ian Darke too. Least favourite is the 'Merch (Larry), slow, drawling, annoying.

Err. You are aware that Rawling is a boxing Journalist? He's one of the most prominent boxing journalists in the big newspapers, the Guardian if I'm not mistaken.

I agree he isn't a great commentator, but to say he doesn't know boxing is a bit silly.

Rawling knows his Boxing and i always get the impression he holds back his opinions to please the paymasters. Ian Darke is the king and with Jim Watt as his sidekick, as Den Perry would say..."solid gold"

must admit i'm not a fan of Merchant but the Yanks seem to fckin love him.

he puts me in mind of an American Des Lynam but over here do you really believe Des would be allowed to carry on to 130, you must be joking.

Merchant does have that cheeky streak in him where he will like take the piss out of Mayweather while standing in striking distance of him but the delivery too slow these days to be doing the top commentating job. That said it is generally pitched at 50 million TV dinner eating Yanky doodle dandys.

i just read that back mind you and that is SOME bloody commentating job broadcasting Ali - Foreman to ONE BILLION. Not to mention 10,000 fights and can I just point out fresh as a daisy versus.......(wot the fck am I on about ) i mean commentating on Haye Mormeck.
That does not spell crap - you are right, respect where it's due.
