Next for Haye? Opinions

Plenty to look forward to and I think Haye can carry on being a great advert for British boxing. No mincing. This guys has won the real titles first and then added the WBO for good measure. (as opposed to the other way round).

I was thinking, would Haye be tempted into a full unification with Cunningham in 1 last cruiser fight? Showtime, who showed haye-Mac to US viewers, have an interest in two things: showing competitive fights AND showcasing underrated US boxers that HBO won't try to steal. I won't be surprised if Showtime cough up to try & make Haye-Cunningham.

Obviously, it looks likely it's heavyweight in the next fight. Will they have extra money to bring Rahman over? The European route worked really well at cruiser, building his skills up and earning a world ranking en route to two KO wins over world champs Mormeck and Macca.

Who do ppl think Haye will fight, to build up to his heavyweight title shot? And just as important, any ideas who will be promoting and televising?

I'd love to see Haye-Greenberg for starters.

Rahman would be good. Greenburg would be pointless. He should move up now.

Sam or Skelton would be good. He should fight in London again.W ho will promote as well?

I know I wasn't looking out, but I didn't see any sign of Maloney after the Johanesson fight.

No chance on Cunningham fight being made IMO - the appeal just isnt there for anyone but the very hardcore boxing fan. Cunningham can manoeuvre himself into the void created by Haye's departureand establish himself as the best cruiser but there is no way I see Haye hanging around for this fight, nor Showtime trying to put the money up to make it happen.

John Ruiz has just come back with another lackluster showing against McCline in Cancun last night. He would be a safe, entry level heavyweight fight but his jab-n-grab style would most likely spoil the visual spectacle.

Good point Terry, but I wouldn't be surprised if Showtime offered him nice money, even if it doesn't fit with Haye's plans. Like when Showtime offered Calzaghe and Kessler a payday vs Dawson. Sho do have a hard on for excellent Yanks that will go into gritty hardcore fan fights.

That's not to say Haye would take. He'll obviously do what he feels is best for himself which is cool.

In terms of a heavyweight fight for Haye, I would have thought that the US paymasters would want to see a US known quantity in the other corner,.

How about a Fres Oquendo type? Been there and has fallen short at the highest level but have won a couple on the spin and could showcase Haye as he grows into his new division.

Its about striking a balance between the opponent's credibility/ability and allowing HAye a chance to grow into his new division.

The Mormeck fight was frank's last with David.

I think he should fight an established US name (if he's only going to fight at HW for 2.5 years like he's said).

Rahman looked poop in his last fight, and is still a credible name in the US.

I just don't see any benefit in Haye facing Sam or Skelton for the European title.

styles make fights, and I think Sam would be a nightmare for Haye. Squat, tough pressure fighter who could probably take haye's best shots and hurt haye? Worst matchup, stay away.

Someone like Fres should be ideal, or Calvin Brock, or eddie chambers. i don't see these guys sticking around past the second half of the fight.

If Haye isn't fighting past 30 he may only have 6 or 7 fights left.

I would like to see Haye put paid to F rank Warren's dull Britpack HW merry-go-round & KO Harrison, Sprott, Williams & Skelton (if he wins the Euro title), then Sam, if he is the Euro champ, then go after the big boys.

Rahman would be my pick. Haye will want to climb the heavyweight rankings quickly and someone like Rahman would be ideal for that. There is no one out there for him to be afraid of aside from the Klitschkos', imo.

Right now Solis is garbage because he won't get in shape. If he can get in shape, then Haye v Solis continuing their ama rivalry is a good story. Heck if it was good enough for Haye v Lasse and Haye v Frago then I'll go for it.

Povetkin I believe is going to be the best heavyweight of the lot.

In an ideal world maybe someone like Peter takes down Wlad. Then Povetkin outclasses Peter opening up great fights involving Pov, Haye and an in shape Solis. These 3 are classy fighters with the amateur background behind them.

GBP have been desperate for a HW for 4 years according to Schaefer. They had some links to Ibragimov, but he wasn't a GBP fighter.

Hasim would be a good fight, but not yet. He has no experience in the HW and i would say Hasim would take him easily..

needs to take some others first..

maybe Audelys comeback should be against Haye
