Hagler - Monroe I

Post by BoxBuzz »

This fight is such an enigima, has anyone here ever seen it?
Is there a tape of this fight? I know several folks including myself
that want to see it. From time to time it is brought up in discussion here, but each time I believe it gets reconfirmed that apparently there is no video record of it.

If that is not true could anyone put me in touch with someone who has a copy of it?

There is another poster at a rival forum who says he knows someone who has coverage of this fight and his fight with Wigfall, the last 6 rounds of the Colbert fight and one other yet he says he is not at liberty to say how he knows but that it will be soon be released.

I just think it's a bunch of hype and bs

Who cares? It would only show Hagler was a southpaw plodder,(duh) showing he can't cut the ring off, and getting outboxed by a a club fighter. :box: :box:

The only plodder here is leonard. Just look at his fights with Norris and Hearns, the only two fights he ever lost.

So then Plodder Leonard vs. Plodder Hagler = Leonard Victory.

So it was done, so shall it be written. :TU: :TU:

I'd like to see you say that to Willie Monroe's face.

LOL

Monroe was a top level middleweight until his manager/trainer Yank Durham died and left him stranded.

Meanwhile who are you exactly, other than a keyboard pecker on what purports to be a 'boxing' site ?
Ok....let's keep it all on the civil here....

Well I met Willie on one occasion and thought him to be very credible fighter if not a bit of a mean sob. He told me he would beat Cyclone Hart not long after they both appeared on the cover of Ring....so I suppose he was also a psychic. But I always got a kick out of the fact that he bested Hagler at least once. Don't get me wrong I like Hagler, his southpaw stance notwithstanding.

Ringsider don't be bothered by granny, the fact that he can find his own keyboard at age 118 speaks volumes about the man's grit and determination.

You call that a win? Anyone can get themselves corrupt judges for an automatic win so who cares if Leonard gets a gift decision? Leonard is still a pathetic fighter no matter what ,, anyone who watched Norris & Camacho beat him black and blue will attest to that.
How about Kevin Howard?
