I know for a fact that Nates manager definately wants the winner of Cassa/Katsidis next. It depends whether they want it. The winner will be the WBO mandatory.

reckon so and would be a good one. think campbell would enjoy thhe chance to get some revenge on an aussie after Peden.First things first Casamoyar.
Have not seen enough of Katsidis to comment accurately but thhe bits i have seen he seems to have BAD defence, gets cut (to a point where it could be career ending) and concentrates on volume punching which is all good and well but perhaps needs to set himself on occasion for the big one.
I thhink the Casamoyar fight will be an excellent yardstick even if the opponent may not be the fighter he was.As for campbell well he aint getting younger so guess now he wants to look for more of the biggest fights he can get.
interested to know posters comparison of katsidis compared to Peden. Know Robbie was no P4P great but i always saw him as a world class operator who came to fight with good offence, heart, not a bad chin and some power.Plus he gave us one of the nastiest KOs in history.Didnt see the second fight with Peden-listened on radio. Also aondering for those that saw it-was it a foul filled/hometown ref affair as the radio commentary seemed to suggest(albeit in a subtle manner)???
Cheers,
J.

I would like to make a few points if i may...

Im hearing a lot of talk about katsidis being a cutter. To my knowledge, he has only been cut in the Amonsat fight (correct me if im wrong). If you watch the fight, which i did, you will see that 2 of the cuts were big headbutts. The others were from punching... which is expected when your skin is already cut and there is less tension. So i can understand why the Americans would think that, as that is the only fight they've seen of him.

Katsidis is a big puncher who throws bombs 4 out of every 5 punches. And can do it for 12 rounds. They are also fast bombs too. If anyone saw the straight rights he was hitting Amonsat with, would agree (even De La Hoya was loving it in the background). His defence isnt the best, but he fights with all his heart.

Now if there were a Campbell vs Katsidis fight... I would have to be a little concerned for Katsidis (im a huge fan of his). Only because Campbell can hit hard and is a good boxer.

In saying that, Katsidis KO'd Ganoy (who isnt a great boxer, but can hit hard, who also KO'd Pedan) and didnt show any signs of glass chinism.

In the end, i think Katsidis is too strong, too hungry and too aggressive for anyone at the moment... Well, to a certain extent anyway.

Campbell is a headcase, he can be pretty unbeatable like he was against Diaz, Quiles, & Kid Diamond, but he can also pull some stupid shit like he did against Peden in their first fight, or when he completely abandoned his game plan halfway through the Hlatswayo fight.

I personally dont trust Campbell to hold it together at this point, now that he has ultimate success. Dunno if Katsidis (BTW is the first "i" an "aye" sound or an "ee" sound?) is the man to do it, but if he can take down Casamayor (assuming his isnt shopworn) he can beat Campbell....

Also dont read too much into what Peden did against Campbell, 130 was not the right weight for Nate, has has proved much stronger and more durable at 135.

Didnt realise the cuts vs Amonsot were hheadbuttss as only saw highlight reel late on.They were pretty nasty cuts tho.
Musst admit amazed Amonsot was still standing coz he was gettin rained on.thats all i got my impresssion coa towards the end he seemed to be just arm punching and lots of em whereas i wondered if he took a few seconds, cocked and loaded he could of landed the big one.Just goin flat out i guess-good luck to him.
Anyway like the fact that Katsidis comes to fight and i guess when u have his style its hard perhaps to have great defence anyway or more to the point always room to be countered.Good to see someone not afraid to mix it.In fact think the next matchup(Joel C)is quite intriguing to say the least.
As for Campbell-must be frustrating as hell to be a fan of his. Obviously from what has been said of the Diaz fight(again didnt see it-grrrrrrrrrr) seems he came on a mission and had his head in the right place.May be a bit of a dick at times but good on him.
lightweight div seems to have really opened up with Campbells win and with upcoming fights should make for a good year at that div.

An "ee" sound mate...

I have seen Campbell a fair few times and while I know he can be good I reckon Katsidis would have more than enough to beat him...

Casa I'm not as sure about...

Provided "Rocky" beats Casamayor he will have to fight Campbell, as Katsidis is interim WBO champ and Campbell holds the official strap. Diaz was supposed to fight Katsidis but avoided him. If Katsidis beats Casamayor and Campbell he owes Diaz nothing.

I'm hearing Goldenboy will give up the WBO strap if Katsidis beats Cassamayor. So a fight with Nate looks unlikely.

I should clarify that the rumour is they would vacate the "interim" wbo titl, so preventing a mandatory clash with WBO champ Nate Campbell.

We'l see.

Have Golden boy signed Diaz? If so it sounds like they are doing what's best for them / Diaz without giving a great deal of thought to Katsidis...

Diaz is now a free agent. That was his last fight with King. He will be under GBP banner now.
