Anyone looking forward to this ligthweight battle (undercard to Froch-Inkin)? Both are unbeaten, both have overcome tough tests.

Murray with that Rahman-like forehead injury in his give-and-take battle with Mendoza, and the clinical beating of Dean Hickman. (Hickman holds a win over Ingle light middle Adnan Amar.)

And Fewkes, who outboxed Craig Watson (current Commonwealth welter champ) and Tontcho Tontchev (who challenged Euro champ Romanov).

This is a far cry from Amir Khan and his super featherweights. A trade fight that could well enhance winner & loser.

It looks like an excellent fight. Murray can box as well as apply the pressure he's known for. Fewkes can belt the body as well as boxing on his toes. Murray appears to hit way harder and looks strong at 135-lbs; Fewkes has excellent speed and moves very well.

Lightweight is looking great. Thaxton v Romanov not far off either. I'd like to see the Murray-Fewkes winner get a shot at Thaxton, and build up to a fight with Romanov (if he's stuill EBU champ)...

Tremendous fight.

Really want Fewkey to win.

I personally think though Murray takes a shot better than Fewkey and has been in some really good tough learning fights which will stand him in good stead for the Fewkes fight.

A thoroughly entertaining and exciting fight which will see Murray prevail from anywhere from the 7th round onwards.

This fight is worth more than the English title. When was the last time you had a fight like this BEFORE British title level?

Murray does seem that bit more seasoned and I think he's ready to make the step up. Fewkes did seem hurt to the body by Watson. Reckon this could be an absolute cracker. I think we'll see skill and action with this one, maybe a bit better than the Mitchell-Johanesson war.

Sorry Terry, I am not spoiling for an arguemnt - I think your choice of words about Fewkey being a slippery little bugger is incorrect - I think both fighters have the tendency to get caught an awful lot due to their style of fighting - thus that is why I have summed up the fight in the way I have.

In his last fight Fewkes was on the move all the time, against Gary Reid. Bit of a disappointing showing. But in previous fights he was more aggressive, albeit in spurts.

Murray is a pressure fighter with a nice up/down rhythm. Looks like a kid who watches a lot of Chavez, Arguello, Castillo etc. When you force a fight you are going to get caught, and at his best doesn't seem to take head snapping punches.

I reckon both fighters will fight their best. Murray was on fire in the fight in FL and against Hickman; hopefully this is the event for a really sharp performance. Murray missed out on a Showtime date last year. Now he has one which is cool.

Terry is spot on. Fewkey is indeed a 'slippery little bugger'. He hardly gets tagged at all. Watson and Tontchev both lamped him, but just the once of any significance.

What does this do to the Showtime and ITV dates?

If Universum are buggering about so that they can try and get Froch in Germany, well it is pathetic. Inkin's 30 years old and he needs to get a move on.

Seriously? Damn was really looking forward to Froch-Inkin - Frochy is never in a dull fight(unless the oppenents name is Matthew Barney). Fewkes-Murray figured to be a cracker as well - neither are big punchers so there wudda been a lot of punches being thrown.

This was 1 of the year's best fight cards.

The Gerrys probably want to reschedule for Germany.

Will they put Murray-Fewkes on the Apr Thaxton-Romanov show? York Hall, a night of lightweights, winner v winner down the line...

Or do Murray and Fewkes still go ahead, with Froch vs late sub?
