HEAVYWEIGHTS WANTED

We are looking for any Heavyweights to take part in our own Heavyweight Explosion in London in June, We have been promoting this since December and the winner will receive £5000. at the title of the Guv'nor belt.
Sven Hamer has confirmed along with three other fighters, if anyone knows Mark Potter or Dominic Negus, we are looking to see if they would want to participate. extra money could also be earned via ticket sales.

What will the format of the evening be and what medicals would have to be in place?
I presume normal boxing rules apply in the bouts?

Doctors and paramedics are always in attendance at our shows, Boxers are also subject to a medical beforehand.
Bouts will 3 x 2 minute rounds with the final being 5x2's

We call ourselves Semi-pro, the professional aspect comes in because people are being paid to fight.
we are a middle ground between amateur and professional, on another post people ask if boxing is a sport or business, at a sport level there are thousands of people who did a bit of boxing in their youth but either never had the dedication or time to go the whole hog and turn pro.
This is where we come in give them a platform to fight.
A lot of people call it unlicensed boxing but unlicensed makes it sound illegal which it is not.
The name unlicensed comes from not being affiliated with the BBBofc, Its true sometimes the rules are a little more relaxed but the promotors are trying to clean up their acts.
I like to make a comparison where the pro's are like the premiership in football, and the guys on these shows are like conference league players, guys who want to give it a go or just have a kick around because they enjoy the game but dont want to go down the road in having brain scans, and finding managers, promoters and all the other tests that are needed to turn professional.
On these shows you see many ex-pro's and alot of amateur's who are training and struggling to get matches.
I have been involved in boxing all my life and nothing can compare to the build up and excitement of two superstar professionals fighting but on the other hand sometimes you can sit down at a professional show and get fed some new hopefuls fighting peter buckley. (not digging at Peter but he hardly turned up brimming with ambition, Nobby Nobbs boys are another example also)
At least on the semi pro shows you have most of the time got two fighters both wanting to win, it may not be pretty or skillfull but it can be realy entertaining.
check out the website or youtube for yourselves, some of the fights are rough and ready but some of the boys are good little fighters, fighters who one day when they turn over will be top class pro's.

I know what you are saying, but it kind of implies that this sort of boxing is a step up in class from amateur boxing, when in fact it isn't.

Its basically boxing for people who are naturally quite tough, but don't exactly have the skills or training of a good amateur/pro. Similar to American style "toughman" contests.

What difference does that make! just because i guy doesnt want to be a professional does that mean he should not be allowed to box in front of his mates

2000 regular spectators at our shows would disagree, if your not interested in watching then fine, we wont lose any sleep about it, there are hundreds who are.
Alot of people hate darts but it has a bigger viewing than boxing and thats from SKY!

Absolute bollocks, I have promoted professionaly and i can tell you that some of our fighters would beat some pro's.
Sven hamer is the British Champion at the moment and i would state that he would walk into the British top ten heavy ratings, for one thing he would beat any of the fighters that are on matchrooms prizefighter contest.
In fact we have a had top class amateurs on our shows, some even national champions.
