ENZO MACC,,,
Nerves definitley got the better of Enzo, he was beaten before he stepped into the ring, he virtually sprinted into the ring as it he wanted to get it over and done with during his entrance.
This experience will deffo make Enzo a better fighter, however he does need to be fighting a better calibare of opponent each time he steps into the ring like Haye did.
How can Bobby Gunn and Azzoui possibly prepare you fro David Haye. He'll no doubt regain the WBO belt when Haye drops and then should look to unify against Cunnigham or Arsalan (who will be the full WBA champ when Haye drops the belt).

Enzo's a big lad, but Haye was physically stronger out there. You could see it in the clinches. Haye was pushing Enzo back in every clinch. There was a MASSIVE difference in the power of their jabs, too. Haye was firing his hard, while Enzo just flicked them out to keep Haye off. Enzo was feeling even the jabs that he blocked from Haye, hence the wide-eyed, rabbit in the headlights look.Autobarn wrote:Also, Enzo pulled back vs Braithwaite in his best performance. In that fight he did that to draw Braith in and draw him onto a let hook. So it seemed to be a natural thing for him to do, to pull back vs Haye. Haye obviously was controlling the ring, moving Enzo back, beating him to the jab. This is probably why Enzo made the mistake, of goig straight back in the corner.
What I find funny almost, is that it was Haye that pushed the pace of the fight in round two after he got concerned with his cut. Haye is not supposed to be able to do that vs a big fit lad like Macca.

Lets not forget he beat Cunningham and stopped Dominguez. The thing is, nobody was going to prepare him for haye. Nobody else in the division has Haye's precision punching power and speed, and that's what undid Enzo Macc. When those first jabs landed, and the first right hand, which he didn't even see coming, he was totally shellshocked. Enzo panicked, tried to stand and trade, got stunned, and then backed away in a straight line with his head craning on his neck like a meer-cat.The_Don1 wrote:Nerves definitley got the better of Enzo, he was beaten before he stepped into the ring, he virtually sprinted into the ring as it he wanted to get it over and done with during his entrance.

I know Enzo Calzaghe has a no weights policy but I really think Enzo needs to add 10lbs or so of lean muscle. He's weighing around the mid 190's and is a little undersized for the weight. Not height but build. A bit more muscle and strength wouldn't hurt either he looked pretty scrawny in there. Granted most Cruisers look scrawny next to Haye but I def think Enzo could do with some weight/strength work it will only improve him.
Certainly not build like a fighter.... this became apparent when he was standing next to an adonis like Haye.nickd wrote:I know Enzo Calzaghe has a no weights policy but I really think Enzo needs to add 10lbs or so of lean muscle. Looking at Enzo - I wonder if he could possibly make Light Heavy. If not, then I agree with what you say.

I agree, I dunno why he has a no weights policy. Enzo looked like he was fighting a Heavyweight In there.nickd wrote:I know Enzo Calzaghe has a no weights policy but I really think Enzo needs to add 10lbs or so of lean muscle. Well the guys who are on Haye's chest take him late and he has to work more to get the win then. Hw's like Chagaev can do this and give him trouble at HW.Carbo wrote:I guess the way to beat Haye -- unless you want to rely on outlasting him -- is to be either miles away from him or on his chest.
Enzo has plenty of good fights in a division as competitive as it's ever been. He has a bright future.
I wondered about Light Heavy myself actually. He was/is hardly solid at around 197.stujones wrote:Certainly not build like a fighter.... this became apparent when he was standing next to an adonis like Haye.nickd wrote:I know Enzo Calzaghe has a no weights policy but I really think Enzo needs to add 10lbs or so of lean muscle. Fwank's word's, quoted on his website! I think on the back of that, we can all easily interpret what Fwank has in store for Enzo over the next 12 to 18 months! Warren's one frustrating *********

That might be interesting though I would prefer Clinton - Calzaghe.Autobarn wrote:How about Enzo v Clinton Woods at a catchweight? I know Woods said he's never fight a cruiserweight because the limit went up and they're so big, but what if Enzo loses some poundage? This is something I've thought about before, but not seen feasable until now.
Is Enzo not working hard enough in the gym? Is his diet not working? I can't work out why there is so much talk of how hard they all train in the Calzaghe gym then he turns up with man boobs.

the only feed enzo looked fit to feed was to breast feed...as he was jumping up and down during the pre fight formalities in the ring.Spud wrote:Judging on that phote - Enzo must have had a good feed after the weigh in
i thought it was time for some 'bitty' to be honest.
plus, anyone can look in decent shape with their arms up like that.

Just before this thread turnescompletely fruity. It did occur to me that maybe Enzo could make LH. Having met him and Woods in person i'd wouldn't be surprised if Woods had the higher walking around weight.
If he suffered the way Calzaghe has to for the weigh in he could make it. The fact is though if he was good enough he would have been big enough.
