Take note Team Haumono

Post by ra2006 »

If anyone from Haumonos team reads these forums, I think this article sums up everybodies opinion and concerns about Sol.

Team Haumono, Stop complaining and whinging about noone wanting to fight you in OZ, pack your bags and go to the US or europe for better quality opponents.

For heaven sake, Team Mundine is having a laugh at all of you.

Solo was supposed to go to the USA and spar with one of Roy Jones Senior's heavies. Does anybody know what came of that?

That article is absolute shit, Solomon would be KOd if he fights in the US, He has shit defence and average power.

It says he could be a world champion      :o Maybe a pretend world champion but theres no way in hell he could compete with any of the top fighters at heavyweight.

mundine is brilliantly managed. solo is managed disgracefully. same manager....

its all about mundine. solo needs to move on. he will always play second fiddle to mundine, until he gets a new manager. there are some good ones around.

Average power? He has a 100% KO record. As for American heavyweights, are there any heavyweight belts worn by American fighters at the moment? There are 509 active heavies in the USA at the moment, only 157 of them are rated better than Tommy Connelly. The heavyweight division keeps USA unemployment rates down.

solo has very good power, speed and accuracy with his punches but i think he has a way to go in every other aspect.
in saying that i reckon he is the only australian heavy to have a chance of doing something on the world stage

Meehan is already rated no 4 contender for the WBA title. He may not get another title shot (he was unlucky again Brewster) but he should get some decent paydays. Solo is still behind him.

Most of Mundine's opponents are on the same level as Solo's opponents, it's just that the WBA doesn't magically rate Solo's opponents before he fights them...

Isn't Mundine's manager Khoder Nasser managing Haumono? He seems to manage all the rugby league footballers who get into boxing.

He has average Power, He hasnt even fought anyone with a decent chin. Is there 1 opponent on his resume that is durable and not been stopped. I havnt checked but i bet there isnt. He will get sluatered in the states and couldnt compete with there journeymen although i dont think he could beat our best fighters here either.
He will never be a top heavyweight on the world scene no matter who has the title.

Just had a quick look and at the time he fought them there are at least four fighters who had not been stopped:

Ken Fuller
Paul Srama
Shane Wijohn
Fatu Tuimanono

:D

And Fuller and Srama haven't been stopped after they fought him either

So do I. There are only one or two quality fights left for him here (Cameron, perhaps De Mori, but Meehan wouldn't fight him here), then if he wants 'to make it' he needs to go international.

The last time Solomon went international (apart from rugby league) was when he pursued the "Pleasure Machine" to much mirth in the tabloids.

He left Canterbury Bankstown a couple of years before they lost all of their points for the 2002 season for major salary cap breaches. Maybe they could not afford him anyway  .
