BATTLING JIM JOHNSON
BATTLING JIM JOHNSON
BATTLING JIMS RECORD IS FULL OF MISTAKES IM TALKING ABOUT THE GUY WHO BOXED A DRAW WITH JACK JOHNSON. AT THE SAME TIME PERIOD THERE WAS A 185 LB BATTLING JIM JOHNSON FIGHTING OUT OF BROOKLYN ITS QUITE EASY TO SPOT THE DIFFRENCE AS THE GUY WHO FOUGHT JACK JOHNSON ALWAYS WEIGHED BETWEEN 220 TO 230 THE OTHER GUY WAS 180-85 SOMEBODY SHOULD CORRECT THIS

Very Confusing
Snoopbe,
Yeh it's hard to differentiate among the two Jim Johnsons, however about a year ago I entered one or two bouts for a "BJJ" in Boise and I
assumed that it wasn't the man who met Jack Johnson in Paris.

Hello, I just joined today, and, LO and BEHOLD, the first thing I saw was a reminder of my childhood. When i was a kid, in your grandfather's time, there was lots of talk about "Battling Jim Johnson". In fact at the local fun fair every year, there wa a game we played where all the well known fighters were represented and he was one of them.
Are you saying that there were "2" Battlers? or a "Battling Jim Johnson" and a "Jim Johnson"?? I think that, because of my little story above, the "Battling" must have been the Johnson who fought a 10 round draw with Jack Johnson in Paris. I think Jack had fractured his arm or something, and it was a poor fight with the crowd wanting their money back.
