I am not that bothered about how he scored it; we all see things differently.

What does make me class him as a twat though is the way anyone who has a scorecard that doesn't match his is labelled an ali shill or something similar.

My favourite scorecard on that fight was Elma's. He hadn't even seen the fight but was loudly proclaiming that "Norton was robbed"! Perhaps he'd seen one of Jim Trunzo's fantasy fights and got mixed up again.

I think they had just seen some film of Louis versus Ezzard Charles. Probably just laughing about the little dance Joe did for Charles in the last rounds of their fight. Charles made Louis look like an amateur. Louis, who was always open for right hands, couldn't even take a former Middleweight's punch; Charles got him all jelly legged. Sort of like how Billy Conn rocked him, despite Louis' twenty five pound weight advantage; which was actually larger than officially listed, the Louis industry shills exaggerated Conn's weight because they didn't want people to realize how much of an advantage Louis would have... and yet Louis almost got dropped by him

Why can't granberry just make a quick comment or two about the hero Tony Perez who saved the day? Isn't this a good thing? Something to be thankful for? Should there be a Tony Perez national holiday or something?

If that fight would have ended there and then as a KO RD 2, would there have even been a third fight to argue about? Or even a lot of talk about how evenly matched these two were? Joe seemed to have that "Foremanized" look right at that moment where Ali's weak right useless arm punch caught him off balance.

Seems gran would want to have his say on this matter.

Halfwitted, blind buzz doesn't know that Perez gave Ali 119 warnings for pulling Frazier's head down
without ever taking a single point away.

That enabled Ali to stall and rest through the whole fight.

buzz and company also don't know that this titanic fight was not for a title.

Otherwise it was major fight in the history of boxing.

One of the "greatest of all time", certainly.

A fight can be important without a belt. The third fight was for the belt, and Ali knocked Frazier out, are you going to start preaching to us the importance of the third fight? That would be interesting.

Fighters almost never lose points for holding. Certainly not in big fights. Fact of life. Fighters much dirtier than Ali, like Marciano, never lost points. Marciano should have been disqualified against Cockell, but referee's don't like to mess around with big fights. None of Ali's opponents ever lost a point for fouling him, either, and Ali was fouled by lots of fighters, including Frazier and his low blows.

Joe Louis was champion in a weak era, and he needs to get the same scrutiny that Ali does, because if he did no one would put Louis near Ali in terms of all time rankings.

Mills Lane took away a point from Smith for holding early in the 2nd round.

Right. Bonecrusher Smith lost only one point, and he held a lot more than Ali, and did a lot less fighting. If all a referee is going to do is take only a single point from Smith, its not surprising that Ali never lost a point for holding.

Look at Lennox Lewis in some of his fights; where did he ever lose a point? He held as much as Ali.

Ali never lost points, and neither did any of his opponents who fouled him. Bugner held behind Ali's head, Chuvalo and Frazier low blowed him, I'm not sure what the rule was on kidney punching but if it was illegal at the time a lot of Ali opponents could have lost points for that. Terrell held and wrestled Ali a lot, never lost a point. Fighters don't lose big points in fights like that.

Marciano, Dempsey, Hopkins, Duran, Hagler, Holyfield, Tyson were all dirtier than Ali and rarely lost points... Tyson had to bite someone to finally get a point deduction. Lewis and Wlad hold as much or more than Ali did and never lost a point. Ruiz holds a lot more than Ali and never loses points. Terry Norris pushed behind Donald Curry's head in every round and never lost a point.

I'm not suggesting that you never see point deductions in big fights, but not all that many, and certainly not when you have the big names. You people bitch about Ali, but Ali isn't even in the top 100 of the dirtiest fighters in boxing history, and he is by no means the only fighter in his position who was not deducted points. You have no perspective, dingleberry, because you don't know boxing. You're an Ali stalker, not a boxing fan.

That's one fight. One point deducted from an Ali opponent in one fight in a 61 fight career. Point made.

Chuvalo blatantly low blowed Ali, the Canadian referee admitted that he was letting Chuvalo low blow Ali. Frazier low blowed and kidney punched Ali, Quarry tried to lift Ali and throw him out of the ring,

Show me where Marciano lost points; did he lose any against Cockell? show me where Duran lost points; did he lose any against Moore? Show me where Hopkins lost points; did he lose any against Wright? Show me where Tyson lost points; did he lose any against Biggs? Show me where Lewis lost points; did he lose any against Grant? Show me where Wlad lost points; did he lose any against Peter? Show me where Ruiz lost points; did he lose any against... any of his opponents? Ali did not foul or hold as flagrantly as those men did, and they did not lose points. And there no was no double standard; Ali's opponents never lost points either, and their fouls were often much worse than Ali's, all dingleberry can do is point to one instance... just one... where an Ali opponent lost a point. And Ali did not hold in all of his fights, not even close, it was only a few of them where he held a lot and often when he was older. Holmes didn't lose points for all his holding when he got old. Referees are hesitant to interfere in a big fight, but Ali was not getting any advantages that his opponents weren't getting. Ask Chuvalo how many low blows he was able to land on Ali.

Its just like with the discussion about gift decisions; Ali always gets singled out. Ali got a couple as an old fighter; what about Frazier against Cummings, Foreman against Schulz (or so I've heard), Holmes against Witherspoon and Williams and Ferguson, granberry feels Moore got a gift against Harold Johnson the fourth time. Is there a pattern here? Old legends getting the benefit of the doubt? But no, Ali always gets singled out for this shit on this forum. How about Joe Louis against Jersey Joe Walcott; Louis' nutt huggers don't like to talk about that one when history's most controversial decisions come up.
