Is David Barnes the first fighter to win the british title at two weights (welter & light welter) just wondering?

Hugh Russell won the British bantamweight title and later dropped down to win the British flyweight title.

He might become the first boxer to win 2 Lonsdale belts outright at different weights though. I don't think any other boxers have done that. I could be wrong though.

Well, whether Barnes achieves some record or not - have to say both him and Bami looked pretty poor last week.

Bami showed what Giuseppe Lauri's level really is (and in turn, Peter McDonagh). Barnes might gain confidence from the win, but he hardly looked the world beater he is being touted originally as.

Poor fight really.

Henry Cooper won 3 Lonsdale Belts outright, all at heavyweight. I think a few years following this the BBBofC changed the rules so that no more than one Lonsdale Belt could be won outright at the same weight.

Didn't Danny Williams win two Lonsdale belts outright at heavyweight just a few years ago?
