With Thompson's remarkable victory last night, where do you think these will leave the rest of the Cruiserweights in 2004.
Will Thompson go for a "proper" title and fight a Mormeck (or maybe a vacant IBF clash). Do you think Thompson vs Nelson II will finally happen? What about Hobson? Is this a backwards step for the now world ranked Thompson or should he (while he's got anything left in the tank) go for the prestigious British title again.
I think Maccrenelli and Haye are certainly on the back burner, although I'm sure Thompson vs Haye can easily be made and will no longer feature on some undercard. Perhaps the clash of two BBC fighters, might spearhead the co-operation into putting boxing back on prime time. I believe that Harrison vs Williams would have been a prime time, but that never happend. Can Thompson vs Haye be the new Harrison vs Williams. I wonder if Haye is as confident this now as he was 24 hours previously, there has been no question marks raised about Rothman's chin (and he did show a remarkable recovery to actually beat the count). Thompson has just won in geniune world class, you can't write him off against anybody.
Another fight that might be a possibility, that now one has considered - how about Thompson vs Woods. That would sell like hotcakes and could again be a prime-time BBC broadcast. That vacant IBF title is there to be taken, I think Carl has to be in a prime position to be involved.
