Medley Vs Hlatswayo Rematch
Medley Vs Hlatswayo Rematch
Just checked the scheduled fights for this year in Australia & came across this rematch scheduled for April 4 in Sydney,
I'm very surprised as the first fight was quite 1 sided, and thought that Hlatswayo would get the Hatton fight.[/b]

In the 1st fight Medley was very timid and was a little un-sure of what to expect (this is the problem with fighting Thais and then for a world title). It was only until the last round when he knew the other guy couldnt really hurt him and he had plenty left in the tank that he had a go and decked him once.
He will have learnt a lot since then and i am tipping it to be very different this time.

Yes, Robert was game in his last defeat but will need to press the fight from round one otherwise he will be heavily outpointed.
But why is Robert taking this rematch, which could be detrimental to his boxing career. Is it because his partner's tattoo place has been recently firebombed and they need the funds?

I thought Medley got dropped in the middle rounds and got totally outclassed ?. I cant remember him dropping Hlatswayo?ThePunisher wrote:In the 1st fight Medley was very timid and was a little un-sure of what to expect (this is the problem with fighting Thais and then for a world title). I probably got the shits by the last round and went for a beer as i thought Medley looked way out of his depth.

Im not 100% sure if Medley dropped him in the last. I know that he dominated the last round though.
Medley was out boxed and out classed that night. The type of loss that can change you for the better.
Who better to test your new approach to boxing, then the man who beat you?
I hope he wins as it will be good for him, his team and Grange Old School boxing.

At least Medley had the balls to step up again. I give him more repect for this loss than fighting the usaul scrubs that most Aussies get hand fed. Hlatschwayo is a tough fighter and world class so its not a huge deal if he can get a few more fights under his belt.Brute wrote:Oh well, Hlatschwayo stopped him in ten this time. Why the hell wasnt this fight on Foxtel, We get the most pathetic Fenech fight nights and when there's a decent fight we dont get to see it :x :x :x .

I give Medley credit for stepping up again but I honestly couldnt have seen the outcome being any different after the first fight was so lopsided. Good luck to him in the future, and get your shit together foxtel.

the fight is over and and you were way out with youp tipping. it would have been the greatest reversal of form if it had gone the other way ,medly has got to have at least 6 more fights before he gets into the ring with the african again, and against someone who can hold their hands up.johnny lewis is in the same boat as you, when are the powers that be going to make the promoters bring some decent fighters out so our boys are not fed to the lions when they fight for a title, not an asian titleThePunisher wrote:In the 1st fight Medley was very timid and was a little un-sure of what to expect (this is the problem with fighting Thais and then for a world title).
