I happily give Gary a chance in this fight. He's strong, gutsy and has a decent left hook and wont crumble when hit.

I'd rate him as equally capable as Duddy - who many rave about - and though lacking Duddy's more decorated resume, he arguably has a greater chance because he can punch.

Dont' get me wrong he's a massive underdog, he doesn't have the demonstrable pedigree of Pavlik but if he can move his head well, he can give himself a chance.

Good luck to the lad. I think he's been unfortunate, and at times poorly represented. But belatedly, he has a shot. And thats all any fighter or fan can ask for.

It could be David Walker, it could be Gavin Rees. All I know is, Lockett will have a chance to discover his true potential before its too late.

chris_23 you really need to take people like StepinFetchit and Search with a pinch of salt.
i've never really had a problem with either of them but i can see why most posters find them irritating.
everytime you take their bait and snap at them they have won, but if you ignore them they'll probably find something else to amuse themselves.

personally i think they're right about lockett taking a beating.

i'd love to be proved wrong though :TU:

Thanks fella, I'm taking them with a bucket of salt don't worry LOL... They are just ignorant plums with no idea about boxing so......probably inadequate, overweight 'never were's' rather than having opinions of any substance...

That search PM'd me trying to get me to bet with him then the guy above posted something about him losing hundreds on Hatton vs Tsyzu which is brilliant and made me laugh my head off... couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!

totally respect your opinion fella (this is a forum after all).

I just think boxing is the hardest sport in the world and anyone who does it professionally gets my immediate respect whether its Peter Buckley or Oscar De La Hoya.... :TU:

I might be in Atlantic city around the time Lockett gets gubbed. Might go and watch it.

What exactly is fantasy about what I wrote?? funny how you are the troll on this topic. I will always be a "troll" on this board because my opinions are REALISTIC and this forum is PRO BRITISH at most times. I mean, look at the amount of people that were picking Hatton over Floyd, I'm sure we'll get a few picking Arthur over Guzman and you are proving my point by pathetically picking Lockett over Pavlik
LOL half the forum are blatantly open on the subject that you are just a tit head, judging on your betting skills HATTON TSYZU - they appear right.....

What a mentalist. This Search wanker is Lirva.

I am the person he owes £500 to after he bet me the Hatton Tszyu fight would never take place as most people know. He disappeared. He reappeared again. Got banned. Invented numerous aliases. Search is just one.

He owes me 500 quid. In his sick mind he might as well make up lies. So he does. This is obviously his latest effort. If he tried it in the pub he would get whacked. From the security of his bedsit pc he feels safe.

He is one sad, sad loser and of interest only as an example of how pathetic some individuals can end up in the twilight period before the authorities take them in.

I HAVE CHALLENGED CHRIS AND I AWAIT HIS RESPONSE.

THE BET WILL BE DONE ON BETFAIR, WHICH ENSURES PAYMENT.

DOES HE HAVE THE BALLS???
Is that the same challenge you say two posts up that you didn't write.... but now for the your purposes you claim you did....where is the challenge oh sad one...?

I'm inclined to agree with the above poster that you are a bedsit dwelling loser, not to be trifled with..

Right then Search you wee toss.... If you're so keen to bet, lets make sure you both take the same risk!! At the momnet you are hiding behind the odds, and it is clearly stacked in your favour.

I have a proposition.

Hows about when BetFair release the official odds, your guys bet is based on them. That way it is fair, and the risk is equalised according to probability.

ie, If Pavlik is 1/1 Evens, and Lockett is 10/1 You both bankroll the other for an equal stake of say..... £50 (that's a 100 wank (sorry YANK) $$)

The only chance Lockett has against Pavlik is if Pavlik comes in around 50% of what he he shown in in last few fights, even then i still wouldn't give Locket much of a shot.

I am sure deep down team Lockett know this is their only hope, they must know deep down they have NOTHING to beat Pavlik with.......nothing.......this will be a massacre.

search wrote:Well, what more can I do?

As far as I'm concerned Lockett has not got a chance against Pavlik. He is outclassed and out of his depth. He will get stopped. He does not have more Power than Taylor or Miranda and he is a domestic level fighter and has struggled and LOST, in my opinion, to a domestic level fighter and got embarrassed against Tsarenko (who is nothing in fairness). I watched his video on youtube and was shocked by this comment, "I have never been fit for a fight". I mean, COME ON.

Anyway, that's where I stand. I offered a friendly bet on betfair to chris, who seemed really confidant of Locketts chance.

Over and out.
Coming from a guy who has a history of not paying bets on a foreign site its not really a fantastic option really is it..

I am confident that Gary will win but I don't have to put a token bet on to prove it with some clown who won't pay even if Gary (and I win).. I think the best way of me showing my confidence is to fork out the best part of 500-700 quid (guess or however much it costs) and sit there and watch him do the business!!

Who is the domestic fighter he lost to then or is your geography regarding where Belarus is still a little below GCSE level.....??????

I reccon you are one of those blokes that thinks he's good in bed but his missus tell all her mates how crap you are.

The only way Sockett will beat Pavlik is if he takes an AK-47 in the ring with him.

I think you and Stepinfetchit are the same poster considering you always back eachother within 5 minutes firstly..

You've completely missed my point: I'm putting 500-700 quid where my mouth is going out there to watch it

Also regarding strength of argument you aren't analysing STYLES are you... Suggesting Lockett would have a good chance against Pavlik is not suggesting that he has an equally good chance against Taylor or Winky Wright for eg...

Anyway you didn't answer my geography question!!!!!!

We've established our thoughts on the Pavlik fight I think, as you say..

Re: Monaghan, for me he won the fight but granted he had a bad day at the office but there is no question that he won clearly. Gary took the rematch at short notice (as he had done the first fight too) and proved a point, although once again Monaghan had another moan about the ref stopping the fight. You've probably picked out one of Gary's worst performances there too..

No disrespect to MM but he isn't in Gary's class, his record has more defeats than wins for gods sake...http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hu ... &cat=boxer

Mmm... Now don't get me wrong, I don't like the tone and the language used by the likes of search concerning Lockett - its as if Gary has shagged his missus or something. However, I do think to say Gary "clearly" beat MM "no question" also shows bias.... I would say the vast majority of people see the fight differently.

I personally think it is okay if a British fight fan doesn't want to support a fellow Brit on his world title question. For me, personally Boxing is the one sport in which I would like to see the best man win - irrespective of nationality.

However, the tone in some of the anti Lockett posts have been deplorable and must be stopped... at the same time I think maybe the people who are friends of Gary's must not rise to the bait. I personally don't think it is "wrong" not to be cheering on Pavlik, just because his opponent comes from these shores.... don't get me wrong, I'll be cheering for Gary - but thats because Pavlik is not my kind of fighter, not because Gary is Welsh.
