Re. the U. of Michigan, I had the privilege of being a student there when Bo Schembechler was the football coach and (in my freshman year) Anthony Carter played his final college season, and also a few years later when the Glen-Rice-led basketball team won the National championship. (No, I wasn't held back, I was in grad. school. ;)) That hoops squad was less-heraled than the later Fab Five, but that made it all the more special.
