According to the Lancashire Evening post, anyway- Jennings is facing this French dude. Anyone confirm?

Poor booking, IMO. Degrades the WBU "world" championship, and does;t really do much for Jennings other than keep the pilot light on.
Michael Jennings v Franc Harroche, Bolton April 5th
Fair enough, I'm not begrudging him a payday, and Horwich is really close to Chorley, so its home turf too. But I really hope that the match carrys some significance. Michael Jennings beating up a 52 year old European journeyman who takes the fight at 45 minutes notice doesn't appeal to me.
Seriously, joking aside, I hope they find someone who will really put up a good fight. Jennings is an real talent- and a quality opponent will bring out the best in him.

fair comments mate mike knows that the better opponent brings the best out in him (pryce, vincent, minter) to name a few and with it being at horwich he'll sell a shed load of tickets.so a significent opponent and an entertaining fight will keep the punters coming back for more.lets hope the promoters see it that way.

Agreed that french fella is better than his record suggests - tough as nails and almost pulled out the win against Thompson. He also lost a close MD to euro champ Frderic Close so as a warm-up fight I don't tyhink its too bad. IMO Jennings should drop the WBU and push for the Euro title. I thnk he's capable of that and he trained at my first old boxing club - him and Carl Crook are legends there!
