Craig Docherty vs Alex Arthur, who wins?

This really all depends on how well Arthur can come back from his defeat, but what's your gut feeling?

If you were to ask this question about a year ago no doubt everyone would have went for Alex Arthur, but as we all know things have changed, with Arthur losing to Gomez & Docherty looking better than ever in his last bout against Malik Jabir

The two are pretty evenly matched in competition that they have faced, with Arthurs best win coming against fellow scot & previously undefeated Willie Limond & Dochertys best win coming against Dean Pithie

Arthur looked great beating Limond, cutting the ring off against a slick boxer & winning by stoppage, & although Craig never received much credit he looked good stopping Dean Pithie, most people talk about how Dean was 'shot' but he hadnt lost in three years previously & was coming off one of the best wins in his career against Alex Moon

All in all this looks like a very even matchup, who do you think would prevail if they ever met?

Docherty's stock is high after his win over Abdul Malik for the Commonwealth title, but is it high enough to force a showdown with Arthur? I would like to see Docherty fight Willie Limond first, who has come back well from his loss to Arthur. If Docherty does a number on Limond in the same way Arthur did, it would encourage the camps to get together for a big all-Scotland showdown.
As to your question: right now, I would fancy Arthur. Respective performances against Michael Gomez favour the Edinburgh hypester.

McCoy thinks it is Bennie, Craig holds & has defended his commonwealth title & is ranked #2 for the European title, Arthur may seem the better fighter of the two, but he hasnt yet proved it

I would have to say that Arthur takes Docherty, so long as he has learnt his lesson and treats his opponents with a bit more respect than he did Gomez.

Take into account that people will be eager to prove themselves against him, a high profile, confident fighter, especially now when he's been proved vulnerable. If he's dedicated and takes the fight 100% seriously then I feel he's too talented for an always gritty Docherty.

Twelve round fight, I go for Arthur in 7.

Doherty vs Arthur is a tough one to call, I would imagine that Arthur will be that little to strong, although it would be a barnstormer of a contest.
