I have Kotelnik 3 up going into this last round.

both giving it their all, Rees slightly outworks him for first minute, cleaner work by Kotelnik in the 2nd minute though, BIIG shits by Jotelnik nearly puts Rees dowsn, Rees goes down but ruked a slip, REF STOPS IT

ROUND 12

Rees just throwing barrages of shots at Kotelnik. Kotelnik lands two big shots. Rees throwing himself forward but not landing anything, Kotelnik doing the quality work. Kotelnik lands a HUGE right and Rees almost goes down. Rees goes down from a slip but he is gone THE REF STOPS IT!!!

Massive right hooks seperates Rees from his senses, makes it up, but totally exhausted, might have made it to the end, but don't blame the ref at all. He had nothing left at all.

Hard lines for Rees, he put absolutely everything into that.

i had 5 on rd 12 at 50/1

sounds tough on rees though, i feel sorry for him. sounds like he gave it his all.

That must hurt, maybe a few seconds from retaining his titles there Bunce thinks Kotelnik dominated though! 2-3 rounds for Rees!

I can see Bunce's view. I would have scored it 8-4 if the fight had finished and a couple of Rees' rounds could have gone either way

Kotelnik should have been 1 or 2 up going into the 12th.

Excellent fight.

Kotelnik I had beating Mbaye twice & Witter as well.

Well deserved win for Kotelnik but I wish he'd put more work in. He always looks the classier man in these fights but as they say, the complaint is he is one paced. And that he always seems to give away 3 of the first 4 rounds.

If Khan could beat Kotelnik that would be an impressive first world title win. Don't think Khan is ready.

Wouldn't mind seeing Kotelnik v Hatton.

I sort of know what he means, rees was missing a lot, but he was also the aggressor throughout.

i thought kotelnik started dominating after rd 6.

not after rd 2 though.

kotelnik had that extra touch of class.

give kotelnik his rematch against witter.

Rees is just too small and pudgy to fight at world class level. Heart of a champion though.

Good to see Kotelnik finally win that title. Really entertaining fight. Enjoyed this one a lot. I didn't think Rees was ahead; no way. Brave bloke but he was taking clean punches over the 2nd half of the fight and he clearly is a gutsy, tough overachiever.

The sad thing for Rees is that he hammered Kotelnik's body all night long and had zero effect.

If Hatton had landed the body shots Rees landed it would have been over by round 8

I don't know. Hatton is very roughshod and I have a feeling that all of us were fooled by the Tszyu result a little bit.

about the witter fight- do people think that was an off night for junior or was it kotelnik's tough eastern euro toughness and fundamentals that gave witter problems?

yeah that was so discouraging for rees.

he was working away but getting nowhere.

kotelnik kept it tight and like a lot of those class europeans he knew when to fire and raise the pace.

If Rees had retained his title, it would have been highway robbery, Rees was outclassed over the second half of the fight. He won the first two rounds, but you can certainly make a case for Kotelnik winning all others. There were two or three close rounds, that one could have given to Res for his bodyshots and ineffective aggressiveness, but c´mon seriously. At some point class has to be rewarded over pittypatty aggression. There was no snap on Rees´punches over the last few rounds and Kotelnik blocked 90% of them.

ricky hatton is the champion at 140.

let these alphabet soup guys take each other on to decide who can take on the hitman.
