Sanavia on the box tonight...

The man Howard Eastman meets shortly in a WBC final eliminator, Italy's Cristian Sanavia, is boxing 'live' tonight on Eurosport at 8pm. The WBC number two middleweight faces a man familiar to these shores, Belgium's Mike Algoet, whom I believe has also fought Eastman, but I can't be bothered to look it up.

yeah he fought eastman, but most people will remember him battering and butting Steve Bendall last year

I didn't see this fight but i have seen Sanavia before against the guy who won on a cut against Tony Dodson, Pierre Moreno. He won on points over 6 but didn't look anything special, he has a poor KO ratio which will not worry Howard either. In the Moreno fight Steve Holdsworth was going on about how there was such a class gap between the top guys and the rest, wondering what Roy Jones would do to someone like Sanavia when he was at Middleweight. It's true when you think about it, Sanavia holds the WBC International Middleweight Title, Italian Middleweight Title and once held the European title which would on paper give him credentials to challenge for a major title but in all honesty Hopkins, Joppy, Eastman and even Taylor would probably chew him up and spit him out...and early.

Oh and by the way Sanavia beat and then lost to Morrade Hakkar....Eastman TKO6
