Corrie Sanders press conference in London tomorrow

Corrie Sanders, leading contender for the vacant WBC title, is holding a press conference tomorrow at 11am at Selfridges Hotel (The Cleveland Suite) in Orchard Street, just off Oxford Street.
Sanders will no doubt he confirming a fight with Vitali Klitschko for the vacant WBC heavyweight title. He holds a win over Wladimir Klitschko back in March of course.
Former undisputed champ Lennox Lewis will also be in attendance.
Shame Vitali ain't scheduled to be there. That would be fun.

Who do you think will win.It could be a hell of a fight.I can still see Saunders winning this though.he has a really smooth style, fast hands and a huge punch.

I to think this could be a exciting fight, I hope it happens. Vitali will be under a lot of pressure to restore family pride, will this help or hinder him? He is a very intelligent man so should have learnt from brother Wlad's mistakes.

I edge towards Vitali whom may be the more motivated fighter at the moment, but having said that I picked Wlad over Saunders to.

I fancy Vitali to do a number on Sanders. Vitali's chin seems to be the opposite to Wladimir's. If he can take Lennox's big rights, surely he can stand up to Sanders! Don't get me wrong. Sanders will be massively dangerous for three minutes (he always is), but if he doesn't get Klitschko out of there early, he's in for a painful evening.

I'd pick Vitali to win this big style. The solid chin he showed with Lewis makes him a big favorite I think.
While he's a dangerous puncher, Corrie has a bit of a glass jaw and Big Bruv will probably turn his lights out in 3 rounds or less.

Not bad for Corrie though, back to the golf courses with a few million in the bank.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Fun while it lasts and a good post Lewis fight for the HW division.

Klitschko by KO5, in a sort of Moorer-Cooper type fight, but less dramatic.

Sanders inactivity will greatly hinder his chances.

Sanders' only realistic chance is if he gets himself into rare physical form (at least by his standards). Otherwise he'd have to land a couple of early bombs, and I just don't see that happening against the by-now-battle-tested Vitali.

Glad to see some real action return to the HW title scene, though! (Assuming the fight really is a go.)

Don't be so quick to rule Corrie out ! 19 first round KO's speak for themself ! I'm telling you,if he lands,Klitchko will go !

I think Wlad took Sanders too lightly, I don't see Vitali making the same mistake.

I would love to see Corrie do the double though

This fight could be exciting while it lasts..........Vitali seems to have a much better chin than Wlad so Sanders in for a difficult night!

If Vitali was still standing after taking some of Lewis' hardest bombs, I don't see Corrie blasting him out. Plus he's punching up at a big target who knows how to use his height, and who doesn't just stand like a big statue like Wlad.

Personally I feel the straight left of Sanders is more dangerous than any punch Lewis had. Whether he can land it on Vitali is another matter. One thing's for sure - we won't have to wait long to find out once the first bell rings. Corrie is not what you call the "feeling out" type.

I think Lewis' long overhand right is harder than any punch anyone in the division has. Or rather, was harder.

The punch Lewis knocked Rahman out with, has to be one of the heaviest shots ever thrown.

Rahman's top lip was in row Z when the punch hit him.

Yes James but the overhand right from Lewis wasn't that dangerous against Vitali because he could barely land it.

I believe Sanders is fresher and at this stage throws a sharper KO bomb. Maybe Klitschko can avoid that too but if he can't I'm betting we see a significant reaction in those legs.

I believe the Rudduck shot was better, Razor's body went one way, his legs went the other - its quite a funny knockdown if you look at it again..

LONDON (Reuters) - South African Corrie Sanders has opened negotiations with Vitali Klitschko of Ukraine to fight for the World Boxing Council (WBC) title relinquished by Briton Lennox Lewis last Friday.

At a news conference in London on Wednesday, Sanders's South African manager Vernon Smith said talks had begun on Tuesday night for a possible title fight in the United States in April.

Sanders, 38, knocked out Klitschko's brother Vladimir last year to win the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) version of the heavyweight crown. He has won 39 of his 41 fights, 29 of them by knockout.

Klitschko lost to Lewis in the Briton's last professional fight. He is the number one contender for the WBC title, while Sanders is the number two after giving up his WBO belt.

"This is Corrie Sanders's opportunity of a lifetime," Smith said. "We hope to have this fight taking place somewhere in April of this year. We hope Vitali Klitschko is up to it.

"We would love the fight to take place in America."

Lewis, who is now a director of the management company representing Sanders, said he knew the Klitschko brothers were scared of the South African because of his unorthodox southpaw style.

"They don't really know what to do about it," he said.

"It's wide open now, let the new champion take over. The opportunity is there for a great fight."

Sanders, who knocked out Vladimir Klitschko in the second round of their WBO fight last year, said he wanted to do the same to his brother.

"I will show you that I am going to whack Klitschko like he has never been whacked before," he said.

The WBC title is recognised as the most prestigious of the four belts.

Sanders actually looks pretty good, though it's hard to gauge his fitness with shirt and jacket on. (On him, that is, not on me ;)) Lewis has always had a bit of a baby face and lacks the paleface-growing-up-in-sunny-South-Africa-lines, so you can't fairly use the way their faces look to judge their ages..

I hope Corrie gets himself into the shape of his life for this one - it will quite possibly be his last shot at the big time. (If he happens to get beaten up badlyu enough by Vitali, younger brother Vlad may well start calling him out, but I don't consider fighting for the WBO title the big time, especially in light of who'll be fighting for it now that Sanders has vacated.)

Oh, and my vote goes for Sanders being both star-struck AND fancying Lewis. He looks like some teenage girl with a heavy crush - must be the dreadlocks.

Has anyone else noticed Corrie is wearing the sort of leather Jacket beloved of middle aged Arabic men in discoteques along Edgware road, a look first popularised by Michael Jackson in the 80's, since bastardised throughout the middle east and asia minor?

It's the sort of jacket that normally comes in black, but Corrie has gone for the tan look, with extra zips, married with a black and white checked shirt, the look of a true fashion champion.

He does look like he wants to nuzzle up to Lennox.
