I remember a few years ago I was on these boards espousing the same views as DG when DG was a little trooper coming through. I was all along at that stage so it's great to see the likes of DG putting the forum straight on this issue.
I must say I do agree with most of the things you say about Hatton DG. (the dodging etc). However he has done a hell of a lot for the sport. The following and appeal he has gained has probably created such an increase in the sports poppularity in the UK that allmost all boxers are potentially benefiting.
Increased popularity gets more money into the sport. More money in the sport will help at all levels. Events which would usually get 3000 attending may now be getting 5000 fans. And when theres more money in any industry there will be a higher quality workforce and better infrastucture which the next generation will undoubtably benefit from.
Therefore, allthough I personaly dislike Hatton, I have to concede that he is doing the sport a service by indirectly increasing the poularity of fellow profesionals and making the sport more accessable to young aspiring amateurs.
