I think TV does a very good job of presenting the news and does so in a very unbiased way. Quality newspapers are also good at reporting the facts. The Sun has to sensationalise stories to sell its papers and cant be relied upon. This cleric has been deported for generating the wrong idears and stirring up trouble so why report his views which gives him the power to continue what he was doing when he was here. Editors should be far more careful about what they allow in their papers. Amir Khan is proud to fly the British flag and thats a good thing. He says his religious beliefs help him both as a person and as a boxer and again thats a good thing. Kids from both Asian and white families look up to him for what he has achieved so far, so he is doing a good job as a role model as well. We shoudnt allow politics, religion and racism to be associated with our sports people.

Well technically it's actually true and supported by the Hadith. Mohammed married Ayisha when she was 6 band had sex with her when she was 9. This is why some brnaches of Islam, esp fundamentalist / Saudi find no problem with child sex / marriage.boxingchat wrote:Stupid comments like this are hardly helpful and make you as bad as them.boxingchatter wrote:The Prophet Mohammed was a child molester. Amir Khan speaks about Union Flag controversy
By Andy McFarlane , boltonnews.co.uk
BOXER Amir Khan has spoken out for the first time over the controversy surrounding his Union Flag shorts.
And the 21-year-old vowed to continue flying the flag for Britain in the ring.
Exiled radical cleric Omar Bakri Mohammad this week launched a tirade against the Bolton-born Olympic silver medallist, accusing him of setting a bad example to Muslims.
"He wears shorts with the Union Jack. That is a sin," Omar Bakri, who left London for Lebanon in 2005, was reported as saying.
"He should not be wearing the flag because sovereignty is for God. His only allegiance should be to the Prophet Mohammed."
Politicians and senior British Muslims leapt to Khan's defence, with Muslim Council of Britain general secretary Inayat Bunglawala describing Amir as "a wonderful role model".
Bolton South-east MP Dr Brian Iddon, Communities Secretary Hazel Blears and Yaseer Ahmed, from the Bolton Council of Mosques, also spoke in support of the Bolton fighter.
And yesterday Khan himself hit back at a press conference ahead of Saturday's lightweight fight with Dane Martin Kristjansen at his Gloves gym in Prince Street, Halliwell.
"I am not going to change," he told reporters.
"I will be coming into the ring in my normal clothes and I'm going to stay the same way."
Khan takes on the Kristjansen in the WBO world title eliminator at Bolton Arena.
The fight is being billed as "National Pride" on posters and Amir's website shows him draped in a Union Jack.
Promoter allegedly has described Khan as "the face of modern multi-cultural Britain" and said young people look up to him.
"Amir likes to keep his religion private and personal but I know he is extremely proud to be British and represent his country in the boxing ring and he is equally proud of his Pakistani heritage," Mr Warren added.

The Indian Sai Baba said by many to be God Incarnate also had a problem with kids. Christianity is full of flaws but the 10 commandments do form the basis of our law system. Having said that the Old Testament where the book of Moses comes from was adopted/nicked by the Christians. Originally it was the Jewish book of the law. Then of course Christianity is not just one religion. Over centuries it has fragmented into many. Can we rely upon what the Bible says. For a start there are several Bibles. The orginal writings on papyrus dont exist, the very oldest are copies of copies of copies etc. Through centuries of time Monks have made their alterations, and then the Catholics changed a lot of what was written making the Bible very unreliable. Then there are theological debates about what did Jesus mean when he said whatever which has to be a nonsense when the written words have been changed by so many over 2000 years. Better education throughout the 20th century caused many to question Christianity while others just had blind faith. If you delve into Christianty you find many of the stories are borrowed/stolen from elsewhere including the birth of Jesus. Sadly most of what is written in the Bible is very questionable.E wrote:Well technically it's actually true and supported by the Hadith. Why are you all trying to counter Mo's child abuse with points about Christianity having nonces and warmongers too??? Those old testament old fools were equally deplorable...WildWaylon wrote:The Indian Sai Baba said by many to be God Incarnate also had a problem with kids. It is indefensible and if you read my last point; all organised religions are nonsense.
There is one basic theological difference however - Mo is, according to Islam, the perfect human being.....(unlike EG old testament prophets, kings etc.)
So his actions are to be replicated and copied and timeless.
Draw your own conclusions.

Even the name Jesus is inaccurate. Yeshua is the most popular theory, but the whole Jesus of Nazareth bit is bullshit. There were several prophets around at that time, who wandered around the middle east spouting off. Yeshua was just one of them, who became hugely popular after his death, but was not particularly influential during his lifetime.WildWaylon wrote:The Indian Sai Baba said by many to be God Incarnate also had a problem with kids. 'Religion..... What a Load of Old Shit!!!' by Stuart Chambers
Religion is an outdated concept that was thought up the same time as people were claiming that the world was flat and when people were dunking women under water to see if they were witches or not.... some geeza walking round the middle east turning water into wine and feeding thousands with half a slice of Warbutons and a stickleback is equally proposterous IMO (no doubt the other religions contain equally as much drivel)
If people accept that the bible, koran etc. (I soon emptied my holy book knowledge tanks
) are just a fictional guideline of how you should lead your life then fair enough, but personally I know right from wrong and I don't need some pompous kant to tell me on a Sunday morning/5 times a day.
My motto is live and let live, so as long as they ain't bothering me they can believe what they want, but personally I just find the whole concept of religion bizarre!!! despite having R.E. rammed down my throat (oo errr) at school

I am not condoning anybodys child abuse. A young child is a young child in any country and laws not religion need to be used to protect them. Teenagers are a bit of a grey area. In America different States have different laws and the age of consent is variable. Throughout the world the same situation applies. Different rules for hetrosexuals and homosexuals. An age of consent for homosexual males but none at all for girls in some countries. Having sex with a 9 year old is obsene surely in any culture at any time. The singer Jerry Lee Lewis married a 13 year old and many of his fans dumped him. Moving on, Jesus is said to be a Saviour God and the record shows he was the 17th to be dubbed with that honour. St. Paul was the one who spread the word about Jesus and made the elaborate claims about him. I dont think Jesus himself made any claims about having extraordinary powers or being the son of God. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were unknown authors each giving an account of the life of Jesus. None lived in his time and by the time the first book was written the stories had been told thousands of times by generations of people, about 80 years they think. Well we all know about Chinese whispers so you can imagine how the stories changed and became more and more elaborate before being written down. At the councils of Nicea and Carthage the Christian religion was established and what they didnt know they made up or robbed from other religions. The God Mythra, once the God of Rome, Had his birthday on 25th Dec, was born in a cave surrounded by wise men and shepherds who had been lead by a bright star. Another interesting point is the number 13 and how it creeps into legends. Jesus and the 12 deciples, King Arthur and the 12 knights of the round table etc. Thirteen is important because of the phases of the moon, 13 lunar months. It all makes you think.E wrote:Why are you all trying to counter Mo's child abuse with points about Christianity having nonces and warmongers too??? WTF do they pay you for at work Stuart? Must admit to laughing at the bit about a slice of Warbutons and a stickleback. Oh f*ck RE. I got thrown out of my class for being disruptive during RE. The teacher was quoting a story from the Bible about a man who could draw a perfect circle in the air, saying everyone has a gift and this was his. So I said "how do we know it was a perfect circle, how can you measure it" The teacher told me I had no faith and I just had to accept that it was. I think I repied "but thats bollox, sir" The next thing I knew I was in corridor facing a wall counting bricks.Chambers2 wrote:'Religion..... What a Load of Old Shit!!!' by Stuart Chambers
