Hall of Famers

Whew! I have just completed a two-day project. I have noted in the bios of every applicable boxer whether he is inducted into either the International Boxing Hall of Fame or the World Boxing Hall of Fame, or both.
There are a few boxers I have questions about, however. Which Bob Fitzsimmons, Frankie Garcia & Lloyd Marshall are in the World Hall?

As for the World Hall of Fame, we have nothing on Armando Ramos, Ultiminio Ramus or Tippy Larklin.

As for the International Hall of Fame, we have nothing on Class of 2001 members Don Chargin, Bill Gallo, Ralph Citro, Sam Ichinose, Barney Aaron or Lester Bromberg.

Further, under their “Pioneer” category, we have nothing on virtually every person there (except we do have partial records for Arthur Chambers, Paddy Duffy, John Morrissey and John L. Sullivan. (Which Jem Mace did they induct?)

BTW: Why does boxing have to have TWO Halls of Fame? I know of no other sport that has two. Why don't the International and World join forces and create just one recognized Hall of Fame. They could share and exchange exhibits, for example, and have a West Coast branch and an East Coast branch.

I also heard a rumor that folks are planning even a third boxing hall of fame - this one to be in Las Vegas, with the help of ESPN or something like that. Oh, man.

Why does boxing have over 15 titles per weight class? That's the other question I have...

The records of 3 of those guys look like they could be complete-Armando Ramos fought under the name of Mando, Ultiminio Ramos fought under the name of Sugar and Tippy Larkin's record is very impressive.

Aah. Tippy LARKIN. The World Boxing Hall of Fame has it misspelled as LARKLIN:

When classifying all the boxers in the '44 RRB, I saw that Sam Ichinose managed quite a few Filipino and Hawaiian fighters, but no record of him boxing. Are those quys inducted as trainers and managers?

Huh? Ultiminio Ramos and Sugar Ramos are the same guy? If so, did the World Boxing Hall of Fame induct this guy twice in 1993?

Plus, I never did get a reply if they also inducted Ceferino Garcia twice or are these two different guys? (1981,1989).

As for Ichinose, this article seems to imply he was a boxer:

Having put Sugar Ramos, Ultiminio Ramus and Tippy Larklin on the same page I see no reason why they wouldn't have screwed up and put Ceferino Garcia in twice. Unlike us, as the only time we were wrong was when we thought we had made a mistake!

Kid Gavilan invented the "bolo punch"?

I don't think so.
Wasn't it Ceferino Garcia who was doing that back in the very early 1930s? I think HE invented that punch.
Comments?
BTW: I'm tweaking the bios to included links to the Hall(s).

Not sure about "Bolo Punch" but "Haymaker" was used first by James Ferms to describe his KO punch. (he was back around the 1900's)

You're right about the bolo Ric. Ceferino was famous for it almost ten years before Gavilan started boxing. (Google-bolo punch)
