Witter needs to give up on Hatton and settle for average fighters of his own ability
Witter is the legimate champ at 140 not Hatton and Witter has the belt to prove it. Average fighters dont become world title holders and its daft to suggest Witter is only average. Hatton would have beaten Witter at the time he fought Tyszu IMO because he was at his peak. Now the tables have turned and Witter has the better chance of winning. Hatton knows that and as much as he would love Witters belt he wont risk losing to Witter so all we get are excuses from him. Why should Witter give up on calling out Hatton, he knows Hatton is the man to beat and wants to be acknowleged as the top man at 140. I was a Hatton fan as you obviously are but his refusal to fight the number one in the division has pissed me off, plus his love of money and lack of consideration for his loyal fans. Lazcano for his next fight fair enough but then it should be Witter not Malignaggi.
having a belt does not mean witter is no 1

Floyd wants to fight ricky again, if twitter is so good then why floyd not fight him.

if witter is still champ after ricky beats floyd next spring then they sould have a fight at wembly as twitter would have proved himself

Please let this fight go ahead at some point in the near future.

I'am sick to death of hearing about it more than anything else.

Imagine how quiet these boards would be if Hatton were to fight and beat Witter, which is not exactly beyoned the realms of possibility...it's still Junior Witter we are talking about afterall, he hasn't become Godzilla just because he blasted out a guy that was blasted out by the great Carlos Maussa.

How would you Hatton haters react to that?

Precicely, all that matters is one of them proves he is the best. number one and two must fight. Hatton is looking down the list and should be looking at the top.

I would like to see the fight, it would be another big night for the sport over here.

I have always thought Hatton hates Witter, but he hates the thought of losing to him even more.
I still honestly think it will happen at some stage. Enzo/Haye proved to me that these things can come about when you least expect.

Hatton fighting Lazcano and then Malignaggi is not that much of a kop out.
Lazcano is the "gimme" everyone is entitled to after a devastating loss, and outside of British boxing fans Paulie is probably viewed as being on the same level as Junior, with both laying claim to the number 2 slot(of course, I personally would rather see Hatton/Witter but it's still not this easy walk over fight that some are claiming)
Then there is rumours of a Mayweather rematch, which no one in their right mind would slate Ricky for taking over any other potential fight out there. Hell, if anything Ricky doesn't deserve another shot at Mayweather so he would be foolish not to take it if it comes along.

Its not just a belt its THE BELT and Witter has it. Witter is a LWW and doesnt want to move up. PBF has the WBC welter belt why would he be after Witters WBC LWW belt. As for Hatton beating Mayweather at the second attempt no way is it going to happen. The fight is all about getting at least another 10 million in the bank while the chance is there while raising the hopes of the fans once more. Hatton is fighting at a weight that doesnt work for him taking on PBF again, he knows that, but the thought of all that money obscures commonsense. PBF is too good and Hatton knows he will lose again but what does that matter with so much money at stake.

Bradley has beaten some good names.

He shut out Manuel Garnacia - who in the fight before ran JUAN LAZCANO! to a razor tight, controvesially decision (most thought he won).

He also beat Jamie Rangel - former world title challenger, who although loses his big fights ran Kendall Holt and Edner Cherry very close recently.

Donald Camarena is decent too.

I do not hate Hatton.

Its the constant reference to him being a GREAT and taking RISKS and all that crap that pisses me off.

He should just fight Witter.

If you call yourself HITMAN then talking Shit means you run the risk of getting called (S)Hitman!

Chambers!!!

Albeit Hatton/Witter would be a sort of fight that would have us all on the edge of our seats solely because we would be intrigued as to the outcome - but in real terms do you honestly think it would be a good fight??

I don't - Witter jabbing and boxing on the outside with Hatton desperately trying to get on the inside of that Witter jab - with Witter exploiting any holes Hatton might show - would Witter slow down enough for Hatton to get to his work??

Nah not a good fight - although as stated utterly intriguing as to the outcome.

I think the style-mesh is fascinating, Hatton's very adaptable and good at boxing to orders, but is there a plan for Junior Witter in the Graham and Hatton filing cabinet???

I think the fight would turn into a classic if Ricky can makes it to the halfway mark.

The fight has to happen, not because it's gonna be an allout Ward-Gaatti type fight, but ecause these are the best 2 in Britain and te World at 140 and they've had a rivallry that's gone on for long enough wihout any action. Ricky is the only reason that the Brits are missing out on tis fight, its plain wrong and goes against everything the sport stands for, especially when you consider the amount of times Ricky thank and appreciate the fans...... are they just words to get more money from the punters????? this latest PPV pretty much proves so IMO??

This fight would be a great fight for anyone who KNOWS boxing.

The fight will not go past 6 rounds and it will be 6 of the most tense rounds we would have seen in a ong time.

The Counter punching switch hitter

Vs

The come forward limited brawling chav.

Styles makes fights an this is a great match up.

Maybe, but I'm not confident Ricky will actually call Witter's bluff! Sooner or later, something's gonna have to give, because it's as clear as day, that Ricky Hatton doesn't want to box Junior Witter.

Hopefully, Witter does the business against Bradley, then calls out Ricky again! If Witter continues to win, & impressively, the doors are slowly, but surely, closing on Hatton.

Witter is Ricky's main rival at LWW, no doubt about it! Feel sorry for Witter in that he's blatantly being avoided. Time is not on Junior's side, either!

DG - you mention anyone who know boxing would see it as an exciting fight - I like to think I know my boxing and in pure boxing terms - it will not be a spectacular!!! - like I have said with regards to the outcome it will have everyone on the edge of their seats - there is a difference you know!!!

Witter would not be able to afford to make it a slug fest or even remotely an exciting fight - not a chance!!! - too much of a risk - when he could win the fight by dancing on the outside jabbing and waiting to deliver a big punch if Hatton makes a mistake.

The problem is - Witter after the first few rounds would not have things his own way - in my view Witters work rate in the early rounds would have to be high and his chances of winning the fight - are in my view and have always been the first 4 rounds - you let Hatton get into a rythmn and he will destroy you or certainly wear you down.

The problem is Hatton seems to have three fights lined up, Lazcano, Mallignaggi and PBF and that means Witter no earlier than late 2009. No way would Hatton face Witter after another beating by Mayweather so I cant see it happening. I think after PBF at Wembley Hatton will call it a day. I think after Lazcano it should be Witter NOT Malignaggi and if he did beat Witter that would set him up perfectly for the PBF fight. He would be undefeated at 140, be fully acknowledged as the best at LWW in the world and would gain back his respect and support from the fans.

I think it would be exciting - Hatton has to crowd Witter - Witter has to do what Witter does...counter!

Hatton can not box with Witter and Witter would win the esrly rounds if Hatton tried.

So, because Hatton also does not fight at full pelt anymore, he slows down after 6 rounds, once that happens he will be an even easier target for Witters unorthodox shots.

Witter and Hatton fighting at the same pace after 6 rounds suits Junior.

Hatton crowding Junior early and coming onto his shots, suits Witter.

I say Witter has the better chin.
I say Witter has the bigger punch
I say Witter has a style Hatton has NEVER faced.
I say Witter knows how to deal with pressure - Hatton style!
I say Witter has more hunger and desire to win
(Hatton would take a fight he knows he will lose..just for the money).
I say Witter has more faith he wins this fight.

I can see why Hatton is running.

I cannot see how he wins this fight.

The Atmosphere - crowd will make for an exciting fight.

No way does Hatton change his style to be more cautious because when her gets KTFO people will say he was scared.

He will be the HATTON he always is - straight ahead and blocking punches with his face and he can not take Witters punches - PB was made to look like a great puncher against Hatton and PBF could not knock out Baldimor or Judah.

Remember - Hatton could not impose himself on Collazo - Urango even Maussa ha him cut up and flustered and no one is more awkward than Witter.

Hatton knows he is made to be knocked pout against Witter, no way does Hatton think he can win this fight.

I think you are probably right Spud, Witter wouldnt fight fire with fire. As you say Witter would want to keep Hatton at a distance and try to pick him off as he charges in. Maybe it wouldnt be a classic to watch but its a fight both men need. A win for Witter would give him the recognition he craves. A win for Hatton would mean he retired with a good legacy and lots of respect.

Well, thats 2 examples of Hatton fighting for MONEY when he knows he will lose.

In the ring after the PBF fight he said PBF was too big even though he is not the biggest Lt Welter!

Next thing he said he would fiht DLH at catchweight - 150lbs!

The guys money mad.

( To clarify, I did not mean he would fight WITTER for money - I meant Witter has the desire to WIN its not about the money - Hatton loves money).

Not giving Hatton any credit as in my opinion he's mugging himself off by not getting rid of Witter and using every excuse why he won't fight him. Hatton beates Witter but is obviously scrared of losing to him.

But Witter fighting for free is another Hennessy stunt. Did'nt Thaxton say he would fight Khan for free before turning down £125k to actually do it?

Witter has the WBC belt and Hatton has nothing but an IBO strap. Witter should tell him to fornicate off and move on.

Hatton has the name and money the IBO is just something to label the bill with same with WBU and Int titles. Boxing chat where do you think Junior will move on to i don't see a massive line of fighters willing to fight him i think he needs the Hatton fight to go anywhere.

He must be impressive in front of the nation and get American TV demanding the Hatton fight and do it before some young gun upsets Juinor (Not Bradley)
