Terrible situation. I think a Permant venue would be the way to go.Get a sponsor involved and use the Oxnard PAL as an example.Great venue. A class group and real boxing fans events.Everyone has a good time,it's televised and advertised. They cater to to boxers and fans. They have many sponsors involved. As for the Nor Cal gloves,Santos is out.Great event.Jealousy ruined it.Hardin doesn't seem to put the effort into the gloves. No big sponsors. No advertising.I heard the gloves were worn and had tears in them.Sad.Hardin needs to wake up and hire some assistants to bring the event back to greatness.

I don't think Hardin much cares past getting a California team for the Championships. He cuts out the San Diego area athletes by making them compete in the Southern California/Los Angeles tournament and, of course, they can't come up every night during the week so no boxers from that area; and then he lets NorCal and Central have their own local tournaments leading to the box-off between those two LBCs. Hardin doesn't like USA Boxing or its rules - so don't look for anything to change. He has sponsors in So. Cal. - what they do and how he uses them is a mystery. Was much better run when Johnnie Flores was alive.

Yep - that's what he did to San Diego this year.

Surely, you jest. Hire someone who can think in amateur boxing?

Sad note and proof the Cal.Golden Gloves are run into the ground.I heard today that a fighter I thought was Blatenly robbed in the central box off was told he can move to the Southern Cal. Golden Gloves box off.It seems Nor Cal. Golden Gloves light heavy weight champ Joe Gumina, who lost the decision last week, was told the victor cannot continue since he has a broken nose, broken ribs, and a concussion. Gumina, had not a scratch on him.I heard the judges had him ahead on 2 cards, and one judge from Fresno had him losing 21-14.I wonder what he was watching.
