dont apoligise dwain, your damn right.

these guys couldnt give a fornicate about the info i research and offer them, yet if i had a little editor tag under myname i could enter it at will

ive been here for years, everybody knows me and still they choose to ignore what myself and many others offer.

this record queries forum is so pathetic they might as well shut it down since clearly no one gives a fornicate.

look at all that great earnie shavers info i provided, nobody cares. think about the earnie shavers fans who will check his record on this site looking for answers that they could find thanks to me, but wont.

these editors arent doing their job.

Overhand, why don't you provide some sources to go with things you post, or better yet, why don't you join the editors bracket and do the work yourself instead of constantly complaining about how none of the info that you post gets entered...funny...everything that I post to be entered, gets entered.

barry,

I've tried a couple tims to contact someone (using the e-mail address on the front page) about becoming an editor. I have a lot of late 70's/early 80's Ring magazines that contain many results not found in your records, and I'd be happy to enter them. How do I go about becoming an editor?

I've also used that email and asked to become an editor several times but I never get a response.

Guys, if you wanna become Editors, try e-mailing John again. (He's got a fiancee now, so he's been "busy" lately.)
P.S. No one here intentionally ignores queries or suggestions. If you don't get a response to something you post, it's likely because everyone is doing a collective "I dunno."

I looked up the fights in question, The Ring Record book '86-87 confirms both fights as being for the Scottish title. Pugilato confirms the second title (in 1985).
I sort of remember that sometimes fighters born in England still could fight for the Irish titles because of them having "Irish heritage". Maybe the same thing applies here. Is "Dickie" a Scottish name? I yield to the British editors. :-?

Owain, if I remember correctly, Robert Dickie was born in Cross Hands (between Carmarthen and Swansea) and both his parents were Scottish.

I guess his parents heritage is what qualified him for shots at the Scottish title.

Owain, you asked: "Do you keep records of who edited which fighters record?"
Yes, the Editors can view who originally entered each bout,as well as who last made any changes to it.
