What's the latest on Brian Magee?

Nothing announced. There's talk of either Syd Vanderpool, Reid and someone else, who escapes me, but he's not fighting till April now (due to TV scheduling) so nothing will be announced for a while.

I must confess that when Freiheit informed me of Mitchell V Magee i first thought (as did Dutch Windmill) that he meant Byron V Brian, sounded like a good match to me! Of course it was Eamonn V Sharmba and once i had thrown my red face aside i was thinking that Byron Mitchell could be a great test for Magee at this stage of his career and a winnable one at that. While he is a recognised name fighter Mitchell isn't unbeatable and after back to back losses to Ottke and Calzaghe would be willing to travel to these shores for a decent payday....ok so if it doesn't happen next then maybe a couple of fights down the line particuarly if Magee faces and beats Robin Reid. The carrot of a way back into world class (albeit the dodgy IBO route) and a boost to his bank balance would surely tempt Byron over, any takers?
