[Sturm will win... comfortably.]

Ya better phone Germany and tell Pittman to come home!!!!!

Not much would ever get achieved with that sort of attitude  [/quote]

Struth you guys are funny sometimes. Not one person on this thread hopes that Jamies gets beaten...not one. But it is a long shot at best. If someone has an opinion that he will lose, it does not mean he doesn't hope he will win. It's just putting emotion aside and predciting an outcome.

Go Jamie :box:

Is it available to watch anywhere?

I dont think anyone knows where to watch it, not even his personel mate comeinspinner. to also rehash my previous post, I THINK HE HAS A SHOT.

If anyone knows how or if it's being broadcasted, help a few diehard Australian boxing fans out and post the details.

Here you go if you got a reasonably good PC

You'll need to download Sopcast 3.0.1 version

people who watched the fight regard pittman as a tomato can....? sturm aparently dominated him. knocked pittman down in rnd 5, 6, ko7....

i thought pittman had a shot. aparently he was not in the same class. maselino masoe gave sturm fits. shows how good mase is.

pittman is young. he can recover. everyone gets beaten. its how he handles defeat that counts.

It sounded like a very rough defeat though. From what ive seen of Pittman before i never would have said he looked like a pub fighter before, but thats what they are calling him on the main forum.

Still i hope this kid can get up and have another go. At the very least he showed a shi load of guts.

No shame in lasting until the seventh round of a World Title fight.

Case of a good local boy being over matched too early in his career when there was some good local guys, eg. Geale, Dawson etc whom he could have cut the mustard with and built on from there.

It's a big big step from Davistown RSL to a world title shot overseas.

I totally agree, He shouldnt have even been picked to fight Sturm. Pittman needed another 5-6 fights here against our better fighters before stepping up in class and fighting for a title.

Hopefully now he will come home and take on our own decent fighters around Middle weight as there is some good competition here.

Here is a press report on the bout, in which Jamie denies (wrongly) that he wasn't taking too big a step up:

I think Pittman will move up to light heavy weight after such a one sided hidding. Or maybe supermiddle weight.

Lets hope there is no more hand feeding him.

I think that sums it up. No one wanted to see him lose. It is recoverable, and with some good quality local fights, he can have another crack. Having this fight shows him that he has the guts to compete, but also the condition and speed he needs to become world class. The next 4 fights are crucial. Confidence builder followed by quality opponents.

There are some good matchups to be made around Middle-supermiddle weight, Soliman, Geale, Dawson, Taylor, Bika, Pittman, Briggs, Hamden im sure there are a couple more. Theres no need for our boys to go overseas before being tested as all of these guys are at least competitive on the world scene

Sturm is a very weak title holder and it was a very bad loss.

The herald reported that Pittman was doing well until a head clash cut his eyebrow open in the second, and Sturm targetted it.
