Kenny Anderson what do you think?
I think he is the best prospect coming through just now, won the commonwealth games now 6-0 (6ko's). Wins as a amatuer over stevie mcguire 13-0 as a pro, amir khan (light heavy!) now 12-0 as a pro and also Tony jeffries. See he's fighting Nathan king in May who has never been stopped in 22 fights will be intresting to see how he does.
I was highly impressed with him in the Commonwealth Games. Looked a very damaging puncher.
Nathan King will be a good test for him.
Steve Maguire looks more a lightheavy to me and it would make an excellent Scottish title fight. Probably too big a fight for such a title, but could generate interest.

Yeh i know what you mean he need's to keep moving up, he was ment to fight Aillety Powers in his last fight but ended up fighting a guy he stopped before, shame as powers would have been a decent test at this stage, I think King is a good guy to fight a this stage though and we will get a good idea of how hard he really hits.
From what i read in the paper he seem's pretty pissed off at the level of his oppoinents and how many fights he's had

Anderson was far from happy when told he would be fighting Walker again.
He's looked good in the pro's so far, but of course we will see more when he steps up.
I've no problem if Nathan King is his next opponent, he's a tough guy. Would be impressive if Kenny stops him.
When was the last time a big puncher came from Scotland?

He's 25 so got time on his side, there are some decent lads coming through at the same time. But quite often they don't get matched up together.
Steven McGuire would be a natural fight in a little while, for the Celtic title.
But i'd like Kenny to get a bit more experience first, couple of fights into the later rounds would do him good. I'm sure Nathan King will be round late on.

I have know kenny from the amatures and have watched him train and hes helped me train recently, he doesnt do anything flash is very solid boxer who does everything well, cuts the ring down well and can take a shot well, but honestly guys you have no idea how hard this guy hits every coach i have spoke to in scotland have said the same thing one of the hardest ever punchers they have delt with, when he connects you go end of.

That's pretty intresting what the coach's think, i seen him fight at meadowbank and it was like he kind of held back all through the fight, then came out for the last and sparked the boy in about 20 sec it looked like he just wanted the rounds but could have Ko'd him at any point.
In coach's do you mean the like's of peter harrison etc cause if experienced guy's like him are saying they have never worked with anyone who hit's so hard thats impressive.
Found that clip on utube, Anyone know where i can find some more?

i havent spoke to peter harrison personally, a few other pro coaches and mostly amature coaches, but he has no real big build or musle defination its strange, he has a pretty flat build wouldnt you say so? so were does the imense punching power come from? he was spraking guys in the amatures, he sparked a boy in commenwaelths too yeah??
I never really thought about it but i know what you mean, he's my no means massive, must just be a talent he has some guys are really fast he's got a massive punch. I think with that and the fact he's pretty good at everything else cutting the ring down, good chin etc we could def be looking at a champion in the making.
Was that who stopped him? i remember reading somewhere he was only ever stopped once in over 100 amature fights, Egan is a fantastic fighter i dont really think it put's a chin question over him though cause if there was a problem i would have thought he would have been stopped more than once in 100 bout's at a very high level.

No relation of Joe as far as I know.Old bones Ian wrote:Think it was a body shot that stopped Anderson when he faced Egan.
I don't know much about Egan, is he related to Joe Egan?
And how old is Egan? is he looking to turn pro?
Southpaw I think - long standing Irish amateur with excellent international record. Failed to qualify for Olympics so far (his last chance is Athens) but I dont think he will ever turn pro to be honest.
