The great Sugar Ray Robinson won 173 of 200 fights. I do not know of anybody better than that. Somebody else may.

The truly amazing Willie Pep had 241 fights and won 95% of these.

His record breakdown was:

- Wins 229 (65 by KO)
- Losses 11 (6 by KO)
- Drawn 1

I sure he refereed Famo or Lionel out here, but my memory bank is vague.

Willie Pep was referee and sole judge in Johnny Famechon's WBC Featherweight title defence against Fighting Harada at Sydney Stadium on 28 July 1969. It was a hard fought fight which descended into farce when Willie announced the result. Willie declared the fight a draw. Many people thought Harada won (they were counting the punches thrown, not those that landed). Harada's corner demanded a recount. The recount showed Famechon 70, Harada 69.

Willie was a great fighter, but he was no mathematician. :TU:
