Max Baer in The Prizefighter and The Lady, with Carnera also in the film as the world champion. Ironically, the 'title fight' was scheduled only 10 rounds and was declared a draw...but in real life when these two would meet, it went 11 rounds and Baer won on a TKO. The only similarity in the fights was that Carnera would have lasted 10 rounds...also in the film was Jack Dempsey, Jess Willard, and quite a few other former title holders, including wrestler Ed Lewis.

Two Ton Tony Galento and a few others whose names escape me were in the famous On The Waterfront.

Tex Cobb has been in quite a few, from The Champ to Uncommon Valor to The Golden Child to Diggstown to Raising Arizona.

Mike Tyson made appearances in Play It To The Bone and Crocodile Dundee 3.

Raging Bull has Eddie Mustafa in it as Billy Fox.

Roberto Duran was also in Rocky 2 as a sparring partner for Stallone's character of Rocky.

Antonio Tarver in ROCKY BALBOA.

I remember also that Ken Norton was not only in Mandingo, but in a comedy film entitled Dirty Work and had a 'fight' between himself and Gary Coleman in a 'Celebrity Boxing' kind of set up.

Muhammad Ali played himself in a film entitled The Greatest shortly before his fights with Alfredo Evangelista and Earnie Shavers...ironically, Ali was given bad reviews, as the critics said the man who played Sonny Liston had the charisma that Ali lacked.

The Quiet Man (which is my favorite John Wayne film), had Victor McLaughlin in it, whose claim to fame outside his acting career was being the first man to fight Jack Johnson after he had won the title from Tommy Burns.

Tommy Morrison in Rocky 5, though he made a small role in some low budget film whose name escapes me for the moment.

Max Baer and Joe Walcott starred alongside Humphrey Bogart in The Harder They Fall, which was Bogart's last film and was supposedly based on Primo Carnera's career.

Primo Carnera starred in Mighty Joe Young, where he announced that he was the 'world wrestling champion', and he also starred alongside Stave Reeves in a Hercules film.

Buddy Baer starred in Abbot and Costello's Jack and The Beanstalk as the giant.

Joe Frazier made an appareance in the first Rocky.

Rocky Marciano, I dont believe was ever in a movie, but had made several acting jobs on the television screen.

Duane Bobick was in the film Billy Bob, where he became the world champion...ironically, that film, was the closest he ever was to getting a title shot, let alone becoming champion.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

A few more...

Terry Marsh and John Conteh were in a film called Tank Malling, Conteh and Billy Walker also made appearances in The Stud.

Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini was in Oceans Of Fire, as was Ken Norton.

Terry Downes was in A Study In Terror

John H Stracey and Jack Kid Berg were in The Krays

Joe Bugner was in a couple of Spaghetti Westerns

Henry Cooper was in Royal Flash

Earnie Shavers in Honeymoon In Vegas

On TV I remember an episode of Knight Rider that had Ken Norton, Jerry Quarry, Danny 'Little Red Lopez' and Carlos Palomino.

Mike Tyson was in "Black and White" and Rocky Balboa as himself.

Ingemar Johansson was in "All the young men" as a soldier.

Roy Jones did fight in the matrix but it got cut out of the movie and put in to the video game.

John Lester Johnson who broke Dempsey's ribs and traded leather with the best of his time, made a living as an actor.

He was in "Tarzan's Revenge," in several Little Rascals episodes, in Mae West films, in a Lon Chaney movie and even in westerns. He had one starring role and dozens of small parts in B flicks.

Hey Frank
I wish I was your age. Most of my pals are older than me. I'm gonna be 61 Sunday. My grand daughter's birthday is the day after. We celebrate that one. Me and the wife are going up to Commerce for that benefit. My wife will fit right in with you guys. I know that address is somewhere on the Classic Boxing thread. Later in the week,I'll give you a reminder.
