Featherweight Carlos Rivera (11-3-2, 4 KOs) knocked out Jose Laureano (18-13-1) in the fourth round in Saturday night's headliner at the St. Petersburg Hilton in St. Petersburg, Florida. Laureano was completely controlled throughout the entire bout. Welterweight prospect Keith Thurman knocked out Carlos Pena in just 1:38 of the first round with a massive straight right. Thurman becomes 4-0 with all wins coming by way of first round knock out. Jr middleweight Gino Mclellan moved to 2-0 with a dominant performance over Juan Aguirre. All judges scored the bout 40-36. Heavyweight Jason Barnett (10-6) outclassed Charles Brown to win a unanimouse decision with scores of 40-36. Super middleweight Marvin Blair wins a hard fought majority decision over Eric Clinton by scores of 38-38, 39-37, 39-37. The event was promoted by Starfight Productions.
