This is an oddly funny set of fights. The first fight, IMO, being the smelliest yet the more competitive. Santana is on the ropes with his back to Terry and Terry throws a punch, can't remember what exactly, that from what I could see didn't appear hard enough to cause the damage that it did. Who's to say? But it didn't appear so. Santana drops to the ground and looks around for a little bit, maybe 20 or 30 seconds, then "slips into unconsciousness." Norris, justifiably, is disqualified.
The second fight, the referee is breaking the 2 fighters and is clearly still in the middle of a break when Terry throws a straight right hand that lands flush. Santana drops and doesn't get back up. Once again, Norris is justifiably disqualifed. I can see the damage here much more so than the first bout.
Now I don't question the final ruling. The rules state that if the injury was the result of an intential foul then it would be a DQ and the victim is unable to continue. Santana, I guess, was "unable to continue." Hence the ruling. And Terry was a notorious fouler. But does anybody think that Santana wasn't faking at least one of those 2 wins?
