Anyone familiar with Fitzroy Lodge ABC?
Thought I would post a topic on the Amateur club where I train. The Lodge as it is known by many is a really good club. There are two rings for competetive sparring, plenty of bags to hit, space to jump rope, a tradmill, cross trainer, execise bikes etc.
The trainers there are the 'old skool' type. They know their stuff.
Laslty, if anyone likes working-out/training to Jazz FM, then the Lodge is the place for you! I have put my own type of music on sometimes, and the owner goes berserk!
Thanks!

Excellent outfit are Fitzroy Lodge.
They didn't have a great night last night in the South East london Divs of the ABA's.
I think only Davies won a title if I remember rightly (not including any guys who had walk-overs into the London semis).
I thought Anthony Small beat Sam Webb in the final though, so he can count himself unlucky and what was that Doctor doing with Webb's cut mouth?
Mark Reigate gave Webb a good contest earlier in the evening.
Have to say the standard seemed pretty poor this year. I normally come home buzzing from the South East Divs.

Webb might well have to pull out with the injury, which will allow Small to go through (and rightfully so.)THEBUTCH wrote:Excellent outfit are Fitzroy Lodge.

I understand that the doctor was inexperienced and didn't know he had the authority to stop a fight...
Reigate - Webb was the fight of the evening and could have gone either way.
Dominic Atkinlada would've won at Super Heavy, if he'd bothered to get fit!....

I thought the Webb-Reigate decision was fair, but would definitely agree it was bout of the evening. And yes, Mark Reigate's contests are always worth watching.
Punch of the night had to be Coka's win over Mark Thirlwall. That right hand finish came from no where! (Mark's brother, Matthew , didn't look impressed with Coka's outrageous celebrating ! )
Also, I thought Charles Brahmblatt boxed really well outpointing Sam Gregory.

YEah I though Matthew was going to go after him! It was a bout Thirlwarll had been dominating as well.THEBUTCH wrote:I thought the Webb-Reigate decision was fair, but would definitely agree it was bout of the evening. And yes, Mark Reigate's contests are always worth watching.

Went to the London semis, a bit disappointing, only 8 fights...
The Lodge's Davies showed a lot of character giving Michael Grant a tough fight. It will be a good final between Grant and Wallace.
Junior Mcdonald is in the finals at heavy, not having had a bout this season!
Paul Pierson looked like he had some skills at Super Heavy, but clearly doesn't stay in shape!
Yeah, Lewison beat Pierson, floored him too, but he always seems to be loadin up on his shots too much.
Michael Grant looked good, as did the strong Africans at light-welter, middle and light-heavy. I strongly fancy the middleweight to be there or thereabouts at the end.
Looking forward to Brambhatt-Marsh on Thursday.

London take on the Midlands in Coventry tomorrow (saturday). Should be some good matches, particularly the welterweight showdown between England no.1 Sam Webb of Fisher and 18-year-old hotshot Callum Johnson.
Also, at heavy the Lodge's Junior McDonald takes on Donnington's light-heavy champ of last season James Boyd.
