What Do You Like About Your Non-Preferred Network?

Post by Goodnight, Irene »

First, which do you prefer for the big ones, HBO or Showtime? Further, what about the network you don't prefer do you actually like?

I absolutely prefer HBO. A wider variety of guest stars relevant to the sport, more interesting commentators & analysts, & their coverage is just altogether glossier than the more stale Showtime. What I do like about their rivals though is Al Bernstein's excellent analysis, which lacks the bias some of HBO's commentary teams sometimes let slip through. Always will take Jimmy Lennon Jr. over the deplorable Michael Buffer. The pre-fight dos & don'ts Showtime take you through are also a better offering in the way of pre-fight analysis than HBO's excessive emphasis on Punchstat numbers.

Thoughts?

I must agree I prefer HBO...put Bernstein and maybe Atlas in there and you got a damned good network.
