how would Rodrigo do against these 80's middle wts.

He would knock out Mugabi and Give Hagler a pretty tough fight I think..

If there had been no Monzon then Rodrigo Valdez would have been regarded as the great middleweight of the 70's

I agree with Zurdo. Valdes would have dispatched Mugabi. Hagler would have beaten him IMO but it would have been a well contested fight.

I'm a huge fan of Mugabi, but I think Valdez would have stopped him in late in a 15 round fight, between rounds 10-14. Valdez may have to get off the floor, but he would have won.

Hagler would have had a tough fight against valdez. I dont think Hagler ever fought a middleweight as good as a prime Valdez.

I'd lean towards a Hagler 15 round decision, but I dont think its a foregone conclusion.

Would have been a match for purists.
