It was the same for the Limond fight. It seems when he's main eventing that punters stay away. Could be because it's always on ITV.

I think the Khan fans are Pricks. We had problems with a majority of Khans fans at the Khan/Earl fight.

When Khans fight began about 400 fans just swarmed towards the ring and were standing in front of seated fans. Security refused to do anyhthing.

Good job the fight was as short as it was or things would have got out of hand.

whe we refer to 'Khans Fans' do we mean Asians or just joe bloggs who come only for the main event

cause i was expectin it be full of Asians with it being in the capital of pakistan but it wasnt

As Dirk said. We've been to 5 Khan fights and each one has had a hostile atmosphere. Thought there'd actually be a riot at the Limond fight when Khan was floored and there was a lot of tension in the fight he had on the Woods v Johnson undercard.

i think the hostile eliment is more to do with the type of crowd boxing shows attract

its like going to a football match with no segregation

many a time did i see it kick off at the MEN when Hatton & Farnells lads were sharing the same bar

I did wonder that.

I also think the atmosphere is very nationalistic at boxing (more so that football where you tend to have two teams from the same country) and having droves of people wearing another nationalities jersey can ignite problems.

Boxing and trouble is spasmodic at most shows.
Khan shows and trouble are guaranteed.

Statistically, though, it could be argued that it happens more frequently than other sports.

I don't think I've been to a boxing fight that hasn't had at least a couple of fights. This isn't just restricted to the UK either, US is the same.

think yourself lucky - I have seen some nasty brawls over the years.

Probably the worst (outside McCraken v Foster) that I was at was the 'War of The Roses' reinactment at the Barnes v Hare show.

Bloody and uncontrollable. The secuirty just sh@t 'emselves and watched it all unfold.

DLH vs. FMJ was the worst I'd scene, even fighting at ringside!

Quite true, esp. when people are sat there wearing another nationalities jersey and telling Limond to fornicate off back to his own country the Scottish pudendum!

Actually Hatton v Mayweather was worse. Presumably you could tell in the background as most people turned around. There was a real nasty one by Tom Jones at ringside in front of me.

I counted 6 in total and outside of the Arena it got worse.

A lot of british boxers have had arsehole fans over the years, examples being the ones at Minter v Hagler, Benn v McClellan but I think the worst recently are the Hatton brigade with their complete disregard for everything, remember the classless dickheads taunting Kostya after their fight.
I can only imagine the riot that would have broken out if the Hatton v Mayweather bout took place over here.

The were shocking. Booed every opponent that got stopped by one of the Walsh's, then started fighting/abusing between the fans of one brother and another.

I had no idea there was trouble at either the Golden Boy vs Mayweather Jr fight or the Hatton vs Mayweather fight as it wasn't reported over here. I'd assumed it was a uniquely British phenomenon! Who was it between? Was it Brits vs Yanks in the case of the latter?

Yeah so far i've not read good reports on their fans, hope it gets stamped out by Warren before it goes badly wrong
