Incidentally, Bet365.com are offering "in-running" odds on this fight. So if Calzaghe looks like scoring another quick win, you can bet on that as the punches are landing.

I noticed yesterday that the Russian, Dennis Inkin, the only man to beat Mkrtchian (TKO 2), licked Carl Froch as an amateur in 1999.
I have a feeling this could turn into a tricky night for Calzaghe and Enzo on Saturday.

Interesting result that...wonder what Froch reckons about the Armenian's chances.
Unthinkable that Joe loses at this stage...Enzo maybe - with a chin like that it could be curtains at any moment!

Thanks for round by round Knockout, if you get the chance that is.

Enzo is exciting though isnt he, would love to see him mix it with David haye in 18 months time, how would that be for a crowd pleaser?

Not mates with him bennie, I met him once in Cardiff + he's a really approachable guy.
And yes a fight with Haye would be fireworks guaranteed. Whoever lands first wins that one.

As usual, I am skint and 'The Matador' is a best priced 12/1. I know he should be beaten BUT:

Joe has had four rounds in 18 months and was sat on his arse in one of those.

Is he looking past Mger? I think so...

Fighters sometimes get fights like this - hometown (ish), expected to win, missed out on better opposition recently so lack of focus, training disruptions...

I know I'm probably kidding myself, especially looking at Mger's record. Yet there is still something about it all...

Inkin is a good fighter. Lost by one point to Jeff lacy in the amateurs and won the Felix Stamm tourny in Poland in 1999.

He also beat Chris Nembhard in 5 late last year (Nembhard wasnt 100% though, late notice fight plus he was recovering from being shot in his native Jamaica)

I heard Tsarenko gave him a torrid time in Russia last month though, apparently dropping him twice. This hasnt been confirmed though, i heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend etc etc

Mger said the stoppage to Inkin was a legit, Mger was stopped on his feet apparently, but says he took the fight at late notice and wasnt ready.

He is from the Same town as Davtyan, a familiar face in Britain.

I'll be adding results from the venue to BritishBoxing.net if Real Deal doesn't lead me astray in the pub before hand. Will also try and do a report too
